hey guys new to the group. just looking for some knowledge on 1400 8 valve engines. iv just picked up a set of custom piston rods and cam. now I'm trying to figure out which are the best heads and blocks to use. iv been looking at Vauxhall and daewoo. the rules for the class are the engine must be 1430cc or under, 8 valve but unlimted modification. any info on block/head selection or best methods of getting power would be greatly appreciated

Gas flowing the head with a 5 angle valve job will make quite a difference to Torque over a standard head. Big valves are an obvious first thought. CNC heads are good people to talk to.

The Nova 13s block is pretty solid and used in quite a few projects,

I would go with fuel injection, direct injection will allow you to run quite high compression ratios but is quite complex to setup. I see many going with twin 40's but I can't see the point of twin carbs on a max 130bhp NASP engine.

Can you use forced induction? That will really up the hp output? A rotrex supercharger is a sensible FI upgrade.
