This is why I always look for the safest car, usually brand new lol

Any tips to improve accelaration on peugeot 306 1.4

There could be many reasons how they're taking off quicker than you. Sure they may have modified their engine or done something with the air filter but also they might just be quicker than you on the gas pedal. But sometimes when I try to be quick on the pedals I don't give enough gas then I...

    Sub problem

I've got plenty of thump... I just want more vibration. The car makes alot of thump, I usually have the bass on the lowest setting on volume 10 out of 30 because there's so much thump. I just need more vibration that's all

    Sub problem

How could I get more vibration? Even if it is the bass drum vibrating.. is there any way to max the amount of vibration I get? There's a song I have which is "subwoofer test" or something and that makes the car shake more than a nightclub. So my subwoofer obviously has the power to make the car...

    Sub problem

I set it with the boot open... it's in the boot. The only other way I could set it is by jumping in the boot and closing it lol. I managed to improve the sound a bit more, but still not enough vibration. There's some songs where the car vibrates alot and others you can hardly hear the bass...

    Sub problem

It cost £100 but that doesn't mean anything. I had good speakers to begin with, the bass was already thumping 10x louder than most cars' factory speakers would. I don't need any more bass or power, it has plenty. I just want the mid bass to be emphasised more than the bass drum. I'm sure you can...

    Sub problem

Already got one. The sound on it is great. It's 90dB and it goes up another 18dB with bass. That's 108dB. The bass can go loud enough to make you bounce on the seats. I just want the mid bass to be vibrating more than the bass drum, that's all

    Sub problem

Yes mine is better than yours. Yours doesn't look nice at all. Very plain and puny looking... Anyway back on topic. What else could I do to fix this?

    Sub problem

You were wrong ok. Wrong, wrong and wrong my friend I may not be able to set up a sub and amp, but I can blast it loud... can you? I thought not... I have done as I was told to do.. and it hasn't made it the way I wanted. I did it the way he said though

    Sub problem

I think you're just taking it out on me because you were wrong. You know I've already got the bass/amp, I can't get another one now

    Sub problem

I knew he was wrong... that's why I said he should move on.. but now this has happened. I'm sorry it had to come to this turbo.
  13. C

    Sub problem

Just accept it and move on... HDi I tried. I tried putting the LPF off then adjust put the level up. Then adjust the LFP. And I had everything on the head unit back to default. It still has the bass drum really loud and the bassline isn't loud enough

No I'm saying that other dude should accept he is wrong

Just accept that you are wrong my friend. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_506219_langId_-1_categoryId_165748 That is the sub/amp I have

    Sub problem

If I knew this before I bought and installed the sub I might have got them.. but it's too late now. HDi, you said to put the LPF off by putting it on the highest frequency. Then you said to adjust it until the bass level drops. But if the LPF is on the highest, when I adjust it it will make the...

    Sub problem

Ok so I'll set the head settings to default, the way they were originally. Then I'll only change the settings on the sub. Should I turn the LPF dial all the way to the left or all the way to the right?
  21. C

    Sub problem

What do you mean? Leave the sub settings as they are but put all the head unit settings to minus or normal?
  22. C

    Sub problem

I just want less thump, thud, bang and more bassline. But obviously I want to hear the rest of the music as well
  23. C

    Sub problem

Ok I followed your instructions and it sounds alot better now. But there isn't much vibration. I think the LPF is turned to the lowest possible setting, which is 40hz. But I remember when I turned the dial the other way before it sounded quieter. When I make it a higher setting will it sound...

    Sub problem

So just turn everything down then LPF half way, then what? I have a 12" sub
  25. C

    Sub problem

I don't want too much thump either. I want the thump to be alot lower and the bassline to be alot higher and vibrating the car. I want the bassline to be thumping not the bass drum
  26. C

    Sub problem

So you want me to turn the remote bass setting for the sub right down? What is the 'head unit?' I don't know how to find out what hz it is at. I'll check the book it should say I've got both bass and level, no gain though so I'm not sure which one of those replaced the gain I can't find...

    Sub problem

When you say head unit you mean the car EQ right? There's no sub control on the car audio settings just ambience (pop/rock, jazz/blues, techno etc.), bass, treble, loudness, fader left right front rear and auto volume (whatever that is). But there is a remote unit for the sub which came with it...

    Sub problem

But whenever I increase the bass the bass drum is really loud and it's hard to hear basslines over the thumping bass drum. I don't understand how I can turn it down
  29. C

    Sub problem

I've got a problem with my sub which really annoys me. When I play a song on using my subwoofer and amp the bass drum in the song is too loud and ruins the song, all you can hear is bang bang bang. I want the actual bass in the song to be emphasised more than anything else. I listen to dance...

Gearnobs, pedals etc. can count as routine maintenance. You're not really modifying anything there. I'm suprised you have to tell them about a backbox, it's not affecting the performance of the car

    Sports exhausts

£200 is a bit high. I checked Halfords and they had a backbox for my car but it was £280 and upwards! They do universal ones for as low as £70 though. Are universal ones really that bad? I can't find anywhere where I can get a good, but quite cheap backbox. I can't try powerflow because they...

    Thinking of upgrading my speakers

What about the dude who said keep your music at a level your ears a comfortable with then when they adjust to the music don't be tempted to turn it up? And I've heard a few DJs saying they've noticed as the years have gone by they are listening to music on their headphones at a much higher...

    Thinking of upgrading my speakers

So I'd only get to about 100dB at the most? So what you're saying is I could put all the bass, treble, loudness, volume etc. up to the max and it wouldn't damage my hearing permanently (because 100dB wouldn't damage hearing if it was only for a minute or two, and I would never play it at full...

    Thinking of upgrading my speakers

Ok I can't remember where I saw it... so I was probably wrong about it being 135dB But Ztevie says listening to an Mp3 player at 60% volume can damage your hearing, so surely my speakers in my car would. How many dB do you think my speakers will go at maximum including the bass? And if I put...

Will different backboxes have different volumes? I've noticed some cars have really loud ones some have reasonably calm ones. How do I know which are which when I look in a store?
  40. C

    Thinking of upgrading my speakers

How much are these SPL meters? Why do you say I won't generate enough volume to do damage? It goes up to 135dB and someone said over 70dB can do damage. Also a rocket taking off is 180dB.. that's not much more than my car. I just want to be safe.. cause I don't want to be playing music at the...
