car failed mot today on brake balance 29% plus slight wear to discs.
my question is what parts do i need to upgrade from 288mm to 312mm discs & also is it gonna be worth the xtra cash, for the xtra stopping power?
yeah love the torque too:)
reason i ask is the remapper said torque was really high for a stage one with my mods. said he'd like too read my ecu/remap too see why???
is there any reason why i should be worried or should i be driving with the biggest smile ever:toung:
Had my car on a rolling road saturday, my bestfigures were 180.9 bhp &329.3 lbftorque is it unusual to get such a high torque figure? car was remapped 8weeks ago returned 189.5bhp 310lbft.
both figures done on same RR with same mods except i replaced air filter with green cotton.
if your in the midlands area i'd recomend P-Torque in wovlerhamton thats who done mine does loads of VAG cars and crackin price too. £265.00 with before & after runs on his rolling road.
just my 2p worth
sorry PG had a mechanic do the job so can't tell you if part No. are correct, thanks for info anyway.
did'nt need new DMF car feels so much better now, with the bite point much lower down on the clutch peddel.
thanks for all the info guys,
rich:D
there's quite a few hose manufactuer's,might wanna give these a try;
Forge/THS/Viper/SFS,all do straight hoses and bends,to make a kit. also there are car specific kits. IE Turbo inlet pipe, turbo boost pipes and coolant hose's
thank's HDI happy to here this, much cheaper too £300 OEM fitted as opposed to nearly £1000 fitted for an uprated clutch fitted.
should i change the DMF? if the old one is ok will this bed in ok with the new clutch?
well its happend the clutch is slipping.oh sh*t.not gonna bother uprating the clutch just put OEM one back in that's what i've been advised to do by the mechanic.like to know what you guys think?
had no idea about changing the fuel, won't affect me though, always BP and millers.never tried ultimate is it really worth the extra £?
no my car does'nt have a DPM Mk1 leon. i think there on all Mk2 diesel leons. have read some where that some remappers have got round the problem of the DPM...
I use B.P diesel with millers every top up.
yeah settling down now i think, been trying to get it to do the same thing but i can't? which is good i hope.
cheers
rich
thanks hdi
will stop worrying for a week or two as it sounds like you say,the car is getting to know the new map.
if it was the clutch i'd have to get uprated one, any idea on which to go for and how much that would cost?
appreciate all the help
rich
yeah had the car remapped on saturday 189bhp 310lbft really noticeable difference.car and clutch done 73k to the best off my knowledge.
what seems to be happening is doing about 40mph in3rd gear about 3000rpm engine losses power then seems to kick in after few seconds?almost like theres abit...
hey chris
Could try local powerflow exhaust centre, had these on my last 2 cars,£200 to £300 for cat back system & lifetime guarantee as long as you keep the car.
Getting mine done at P-Torque in wolverampton, end of feb, heard loads of good things about them. custom code have mobile service, there are loads of remappers out there, but not sure about your area.
done more searching found out SFS now do the silicone hose upgrades for my car, yipeeeee!!! but gonna cost over £500 plus vat looks like i better start savin more.
yeah asabove, wanna good job doing, do it yerself. those blokes wash the car top to bottom and hardly ever rinse the sponge/mitt. not good for ya paint work,so much more satisfying doing it yerself.imo.
yeah done some research into this already, can take it 30bhp more, make mine 180bhp and about 320lbf torque but standard clucth won't take that so gonna keep it below 300lbf.Will get P-Torque to do it has a really good reputation.
thanks for the link mate, gonna do abit more research on that, might be a big job, have you done it that way for ya pug? about time us oil burners were looked after by the likes off samco,forge.Etc.
