    Identifying Skyline models

The Nür versions are either the V-spec II or a M-spec featuring a complete N1 engine, which includes: N1 engine block N1 pistons N1 conrods N1 crankshaft N1 oil pump N1 water pump N1 turbochargers + other minor details The N1 (commonly also referred to as a 24U) engine is better...

    Identifying Skyline models

The V-spec is 10 kg's heavier than the standard model. The differences between the two are that the V-spec are equipped with diffusers front and rear (the latter being carbon fibre), lower and stiffer suspension, values for exhaust and intake air temperatures added to the MFD and the uprated...

Converting a GTT into a GTR wouldn't be worth either the money nor the effort, an even though it would look and behave like a GTR, it would still be a GTT. The GTR's are not that expensive anymore, and you'd get away far cheaper buying a GTR from the start. Why make things harder than they are?

    Fantasy project thread

I would get myself a R34 GTR M-spc Nür, have Mine's to their full magic to the car and then take it to stage III. Good thing is, that wouldn't be an impossible dream/fantasy to fulfill if I just summoned up enough self discipline to save some serious money.

Why did you mod your car?

Somehow I feel rather young in the company of such old, distinguished and respected gentlemen as yourselves. :toung: Heck, I think it's time to put an advance order on a coffin, I'm approaching 30! :sad2:

    R34 Owners say Hello

Back then there were no insurance companies in Sweden that would cover for body damage on a car driving on a track inside a enclosed area, so that was regrettably not an option available to me. Nowadays, however, there a a few insurance companies that do, and I've changed my insurance to one of...

I can tell you the manual versions are the more popular over here as well, but demand and supply rarely coincide with each other I'm afraid. :toung:

    R34 Owners say Hello

No, I had to pay for that myself. There was a few turns back and forth, where they changed their mind from 'yes' to 'no' and vice versa, but in the end I had to pay up myself. Fair enough, I guess, since I ran the track knowing I had bad tires. I should actually consider myself lucky that it...

    Identifying Skyline models

You're absolutly correct, of course. I was aware of a manual version GTT (an acquaintance of mine owns one), but I chose to exclude it as I only attempted to list the most common models, and the manual one is pretty unusual if I'm not mistaken. I believe we have about 30 R34 GTT's in Sweden by...

    English car part terminology

From what I've noticed on other international car forums, turning indicators often refer to the "signal lights" front and back, while those on the wings are often called winker lenses. On the breather/crankcase topic, here in Sweden we often refer to the breather as a crankcase ventilator...

In order to race at the track you had to purchase a compulsory insurance. The insurance would cover any personal injuries and any damages inflicted to the track, including the armco barrier.

    R34 Owners say Hello

I managed to mash my right arm between my helmet and the steering wheel, and the airbag scorched a good part of the skin on the right side of my face, but other than that I came out alright. My right rear tire blew coming out of the curve seen behind the car in the picture, causing a spin...

    Identifying Skyline models

First off, I wouldn't consider any other model than a GTR if I wanted to do some serious tuning to the engine. As for generation it's a little bit trickier... I would consider the R34 GTR the best car to start with, but with an engine from a R32 GTR. The engine blocks used in the R32 are...

I thought that writing the figures in £'s would make it a tad easier for you guys to grasp, that's all. :toung: I'm rather used to working figures in £'s anyway since I've had a lot of dealings with people in the UK and I've imported 2 cars from there. The work to restore it has taken about...

    R34 Owners say Hello

Total amount spent so far would be about £55.000,00 in addition to the purchase price of the car. The figures are a bit misleading though, as they include restoring the car after I hit the wall front first during a track racing event. I've spent about £25.000,00 on upgraded parts, but then...

I live a few miles outside a city named Jonkoping which is situated at the southern end of Lake Vattern. It's southwest of Stockholm, which is some 350 km's away from here. Where did you see pics of my car? I posted a few pics in another thread, and I included a link in that thread as well as...

Hi mate, Your first question is a bit hard to answer. The Skyline GTR is so hyped these days that many people are disappointed by them even though they are in fact superb cars. I guess you could say that they really give you your money's worth to an extent greater than for many other cars that...

    Identifying Skyline models

The N1's are basically the pure racing versions, and the Nür-models basically inherited their engines. This means uprated oil pump, water pump, engine block, pistons, conrods, crankshaft and turbochargers. The N1 engines are basically more efficient and reliable than the regular engines, but...

Cheers for the warm welcome, guys. I'm confident I'll enjoy my stay here. Regarding the native language skills of people, the vocabulary and grammatics of Swedish youths this day are depressing to say the least. One may very well wonder where the world is coming to, considering that more and...

How was your 2008 car wise

It didn't turn out as I wanted, that's for sure. Engine was having a lot of issues that prevented appropriate mapping, and so the car season went by with me chasing parts and replacing them (fr example, I changed ECU three times). At the very end of the season we succeeded in getting the car...

Why did you mod your car?

Simply put, I wanted my car to be everything I know it could be. The BNR34 is, according to me, a gorgeous car by appearance in its standard shape, and peformance-wise it holds it own against many a more expensive car. But there's no such thing that it cannot be improved, and of course one...

Just thougt I'd introduce myself a little... I'm born and raised in Sweden, and I'll be 29 years old before long. I live in my own house with my girlfriend, a dog, a cat and a bunch of fishies. I've had lots of previous jobs (I love the variation), and even though I'm an educated economics...

Lots of assumptions here... The R-series indicate generation, R32 was 1989-1994, R33 was 1994-1998 and R34 was 1998-2002. The main differences between the generations are visual, although engine, drivetrain, suspension, interior, etc received updates as well. All cars sporting the GTR...
