    I just noticed this thread. I was told by my local dealer the other day one of the VW Passat (I think it was passat onyl not sure) had a recall for water pump. surely if this is a known issue and there are recalls then the cost should be covered by VW??

    Really? I thought the only reason it warned up quicker is the pistons are moving much faster and the friction causes it to heat. I thought that the oil should warm up so it can get into the gaps of the pistons so it does not cause wear by friction. tell me would it do damage to a pasat at 45000...

    hi all, Can anyone help. I attempted to do a scratch repair myself. all was going well until I was advised to not bother with a sand block for such a small area and to just fold the wet and dry several times and just use the edge. it looked fine until i noticed what looked like pimple dents...
