How do I stop belt slip - Rotrex SC

Well, 4 months down the track... I've just fitted a custom made 48-8RPP 120mm main drive pulley because clearances on the nose wouldn't allow a smaller RPP pulley to fit. I thought it was quick before :woot: I'm glad I've got the 245s on the rear instead of the stock 205s ;) I've got to pull...

How do I stop belt slip - Rotrex SC

Quick update for any that may be interested: I pulled the SC and sent it down to Tom at Bullet Cars (QLD AU). Tom was pretty happy the SC was OK and we went into some detail about belts, routing and pulleys (photos and measurements aplenty) as well as confirmation of intake/intercooler...

How do I stop belt slip - Rotrex SC

Yes mate, exactly what I mean; specifically a Gates GT3 640-8MGT-2O Yes... and no. It's... weird. Everything has been checked, loosened and tightened. The intercooler/intake path is happily holding 25 psi. As I said driving with the BOV blocked off I get a 'wuffle' back through the SC...

How do I stop belt slip - Rotrex SC

G'day All, I have Rotrex powered 2.5L MX-5 that just won't maintain boost. I know I'm getting some positive pressure as I've blocked off the BOV and before things get too hot I'll get back pressure noise through the SC coming off the throttle but once the temperature gets up there's nothing...

As long as you were happy with your drive and you finished safely without damage to your ride then it doesn't matter where you placed... although it is fourth loser position :D GD&R

At Last!. I have started on my car ;-) PART 2

Looks like I'm going to have to go back and read all 88 pages of this thread! Is that go-cart a Mazda? Are you a seriously tall guy? That fairing looks like awesome even without paint :)

    G'day

Not the first to ask ;) and I've checked, double checked and checked again to make sure it's going the way rotrex says it has to.

Do you have a blow off valve

Nice writeup, something I'm finding I need to learn about now that I have 'boost'... or more correctly, the capacity to have boost as I'm not seeing a lot of it yet.

    Old vs New

I'd have to break that down a bit further... Veteran & Edwardian, manufactured prior to December 31st 1918. Vintage, manufactured between January 1st 1919 and December 31st 1930. Post Vintage, manufactured between January 1st 1931 and December 31st 1949. Classic Acceptance, manufactured between...

    Are you a good passenger

I've learnt to keep my mouth shut ;) I've got emergency services and defensive driving education in my past as well as being a motorbike rider so, probably like Lunchmoney, I'm always looking three cars ahead, mirror checking and anticipating fools pulling out. Fortunately enough has rubbed...

    G'day

Hi Boldie, yeah, have just done that. Found the throttle body had loosened as well so that’s been torqued and thread locked. Now consistently topping out MAP at 118.6 kPa (~3Psi) As sure as I can be mate. I had it holding 15Psi and could hear nothing but I’ve not had a smoke test; I may...

    G'day

Wish I'd found this forum several years ago. Other sites/forums I've visited don't really seem to like 'breaking it down' for the novices and advice is usually "if you don't know take it to a mechanic", but I digress ;) Chris from Australia. 2006 MX5 NC (Mk3) Engine swapped 2.5L, Full GWR...
