Yep, I'll never be too old for Space Mountain!

    Charon from LA

Hi, Tonytoni! Still haven't made it over to Vegas yet but I was just saying it's about time we head over there for a weekend. Desert driving and then the Vegas Strip - sounds like a good time!

Nice! Thanks for the link - I'll have to look into it! Just getting back from a long weekend at Disneyland and I'm exhausted!

The look is similar but you don't often see people getting pulled out of their cars and viciously beaten.

I'm not sure I'd trade it. It might not be a show car but I still really love it and enjoy working on it.

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

Still looking but there are a lot of car clubs in the area we're thinking of contacting to get their perspectives.

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

Yeah, I don't know a lot about them but they're pretty nuts!

    LOL not this one!

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

Yeah, in Florida they had Swamp Buggy races which were pretty funny sometimes.

    Desert Racing

Interesting - I'll show it to my boyfriend and see what he thinks. It's his Jeep so he'd be making any decisions like that ultimately.

    Charon from LA

Yeah, my Civic is fun but I'd never enter into a car show!

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

Yeah, it's alien terrain for us but that's what makes it so fun!

What mods would you recommend for the Wrangler? We weren't really considering doing anything to it but if you've got some ideas...

    Customizing a Scion xB

The Civic is pretty small so I really only have experience in tuning smaller cars. I guess my questions about the xB had less to do with its size and more with its shape.

    Charon from LA

Wow, I really like your Opel Corza! Looks like it's a lot of fun as a tuner car! Yeah, we don't really do anything with the Wrangler - it's just fun as is!

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

Awesome! I'll contact her. Maybe she can give me some tips regarding desert driving in general. I'm so used to driving in Florida where it's swampy terrain. My sister forwarded me this article all about the hazards of desert driving this morning - ha! I'm not really the type that would go to a...

    Desert Racing

Yeah, maybe you're right. The reason I was considering the Civic is because it's the one I've already done some work on. We haven't really done anything to the Wrangler. It's pretty much driven as is.

    Charon from LA

It's not much to look at but here's the Wrangler. The Civic's just too embarrassing to share until I can get it painted. How about you? Can I see pics of your Opel Corsa?

    Customizing a Scion xB

It's actually my friend's neighbor who I've never met. I haven't seen his xB either and I think he's just started working on it so I don't know whether there would be much to see anyway.

Well, I wish you luck on finding the right project car!

    Customizing a Scion xB

LOL Yeah, that definitely seems like a challenge! Sort of remind me of the old Gremlins we had here in the US.

    Desert Racing

We've been doing offroading (just general offroading, not racing) in our Jeep Wrangler but I was thinking about converting a Honda Civic for desert racing. However, it seems if I did anything serious, I'd have to get it trailered due to California emissions laws so I'm not so sure I'll be going...

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

I'm not familiar with Jesse Combs but we have a Jeep Wrangler that we use for offroading. We've done it a bunch in Florida - not so much in desert terrain.

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

I've just heard that there are some decent racing spots out in the desert but I can't seem to find much information on where exactly. I think some are professional, others are just good spots for amateurs like me. I'll have to ask around the next time I'm at a car show.

Awesome! Not quite moving in the baja buggy direction yet! LOL

    Customizing a Scion xB

I was pretty much just curious. I've driven a Scion xA but never an xB. They always just seemed so aerodynamically bad that I couldn't imagine driving one, let alone getting one track ready. But it looks like these guys have proven me wrong!

2-door coupe - I would have taken any option I could get but 2-door coupe was the one I really wanted so I lucked out. Not quite 220 (I'm actually closer to 200hp at the moment). I've seen lots of photos of Opel Calibras but have yet to see one in person! How have you customized your car so far?

One of my buddies moved to LA from Macedonia! Actually, I think he lived in Chicago in between but close enough! Small world!

Awesome, I wouldn't have even considered the wheel handlers. Thanks for the tips!

    Customizing a Scion xB

Wow, they actually did a nice job! The first post almost reminded me of the Wasteland Weekend; the car show for people that customize their cars Mad Max style! LOL

Rad! I'd love to see pics too! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a used 2002 Si model. Like I said, the mods are pretty light (a.k.a. I'm still using the 2-liter i-VTEC engine). A friend of mine gave me a discount on my Magnaflow Street Series Catback exhaust system - otherwise, it wouldn't...

    Mojave Desert Drag Racing Spots

I was curious if anyone knows whether Titus Canyon in Death Valley is a decent place to plan for some desert racing? If not, are there any areas in the Mojave Desert known for offering good amateur racing spots?

Thanks, the roll cage was definitely on my mind. I'm going to have to familiarize myself with my suspension options. Appreciate the tips!

    Desert Racing

I live in the LA area and have been doing modifications to cars for racing but I'm just starting out. I've heard there's a desert racing scene around here but I don't know anyone involved. I guess my first question would be, what sort of modifications would be most beneficial for preparing a car...

    Charon from LA

Thanks, guys! I'm really just starting out so nowhere near sponsorship level. Basically, I started out without getting too flashy by installing some Evolution rotors and a Catback muffler exhaust system with silencer. I'm not quite sure whether to go for engine work or lights next.

    Customizing a Scion xB

This is actually a general question but I couldn't find a general tuner forum so hopefully this is an okay spot for posting this question. I never really thought about customizing an xB for street racing or track for that matter but a friend of mine says he knows a guy who is getting ready to do...

    Charon from LA

Hi, my name's Charon and I'm from LA. I drive a Honda Civic that has had some very light mods done but hopefully I'll get some more ideas on these forums (and then some more money to go through with it LOL) I'm pretty new to customization so hopefully I'll learn a lot. Looking forward to it!
