Wrong fuel - more than once?

here in oz, they went to a smaller inlet size on cars when they got rid of leaded petrol for this reason, ulp into diesel vehicles does still happen from what i hear, most petrol stations have a big clip on the diesel bowsers that you have to press to get the nozzle out plus they were set apart...

thinking about getting a Silvia s15 what mods should I do? list from first to last mod...

the SR20DET is starting to get up towards crazy cost wise and reliability wise when you are talking 350hp, where as the RB, 350hp is mainly a case of a slightly bigger turbo setup and good tune. here in Australia a popular " mashup" is the RB25 DOHC head on the slightly earlier 3L RB30 block...

    Are you addicted to driving?

we wouldn't be on forums like this if we weren't addicted to driving, i mean what is the point of having a nice car( well everyone thinks their own car is nice anyways) if you don't want to just jump in and go do what it was designed to do, whether track, highway or offroad?

    Suggestions on bonnet vents?

interesting read that, thanks Rad :) so what i can deduce, i would be better with a rear opening scoop above it, and maybe some small vents along the frontish area just above the slope of the bonnet, might have to get one of those guages and have a good suss of it, thanks guys :D

    Why have a 1000bhp car

exactly right! all these cars that have it make that power up high but are no worse than granny's shopping trolley run about around town, vid i saw on youtube had an 8 second 1600hp LSX powered rx7 that was quite happy to use 91ron around town and drove quite well on it, when you put the foot...

    Why have a 1000bhp car

you will find that they really aren't that bad economy wise, like most cars they really only use alot of fuel when you put the foot down a bit, turbo's anyway, i previously owned a GMH HJ Monaro LE with a supercharged 427 BB Chev with top figures of 930hp @flywheel and 9.73 seconds the only time...

    Should wheel lugnuts be lubed?

i think most problems are from tyre places using the rattle guns on them, seen one place actually snap 2 of 5 studs on a car because of it :(

What does "custom car" mean to you

to me it's anything that has had actual aftermarket body modifications ie different make and model lights and body panels adapted and fitted, spoilers/scoops/flares hand made not just bolt on or factory optioned accessories, it's more the degree of customisation i look at and whether the work...

    ECU's

here in Australia most use Haltech, Vipec or Link. Speaking to the person who is going to tune it is the best idea so you can explain what you want to do, any mods etc and they should be able to advise you from there. as with everything, shop around if you can and get a few different tuners...

What is the difference between metallic and ceramic brake pads

pretty sure the difference is the materials used, metallic used a steel strand in them whereas ceramics use ceramic and copper particles. benefits are less noise , squeal and dust, less wear on the rotor and pads, better heat dissipation resulting in less heat fade and better braking alr all...

    gear box and car rating

mate you will find that the car in the picture, to put it simply, has Too Much Grip. what i mean is the tyres have gripped the tarmac so instead of the wheels turning and moving the car forward, the car has used the tyres like a pivot point and lifted the entire vehicle around that point. both...

Are bigger rims a good idea

my thoughts, bigger wheels can be good to a certain extent, too big or too wide and you have dramas. # keep the offset as close to possible to oem wheels so rims and tyres don't hit suspension # use an online tyre size calculator to determine the correct tyre size and profile compared to...

T25 vs T25... Which One Do I Choose??

what would happen if i was to put the .80 compressor housing onto the .42 impeller? both have the same size impeller and compressor wheels so would be easy swap. Just asking for space reasons, and i know nothing about turbos, as the .80 housing is about 2 inch diameter smaller than the .42...

T25 vs T25... Which One Do I Choose??

okay turbo guys couple of questions to rack the brains. I have just bought 2 different Garrett Turbos, both T25's, and am wondering which one to use as all the a/r numbers are double dutch to me. Have lower fuel prices affected you much?

yep, here in oz, our prices are set by the singapore index, why i have no idea, but usa are paying on average country wide $1.75 a gallon or roughly 45c a litre, and have seen alot whinge about that :(

Have lower fuel prices affected you much?

what is really annoying is when oil was fairly expensive, around $80 a barrel, we were on $1.40 or so per litre and now it is 1/3 of the price, petrol at the pump is still over 66% the price it was. And we have just gone below $1 a Litre as some foreign person took over a servo out woop woop...
