    What's the best solution

The regs state 1400cc, but there are adjustments made for diesels and turbocharging (or supercharging). 1] Any forced induction car has its capacity multiplied by 1.4, so to keep in the 1400cc class you can't have anything bigger than a 1000cc petrol turbo (1000 x 1.4 = 1400  ) 2] A...

    What's the best solution

OK, here's a funny question. Using a 106 in an MSA championship means keeping to a 1400cc capacity limit. There are 3 ways of doing that. 1] 1.4 n/a petrol (can be tuned to any limit, it's only capacity that counts) 2] 1.0 turbo petrol 3] 2.0 turbo diesel. I'm not looking for the 'easy'...

    106 magneti marelli ECU

This is what Mr. Haynes has to say... "the petrol cap is sealed and petrol vapours that build up whilst the car is parked are vented into a charcoal canister in the front offsied wing. When the engine is hot the solenoid opens and they are purged from the canister into the inlet tract to be...

    106 magneti marelli ECU

Freddie, Waynne - have a sleepless night? Well, it's amazing what you learn when you look properly. The 'black cylinder' has got wires going to it when you move the rest of the loom out of the way. A-ha, let's have a look at the wiring diagram then. Do you know what it is???? Course you...

    106 magneti marelli ECU

I'm going to have to trace where it goes to once it disappears under the ECU. Will let you know. Phil

    106 magneti marelli ECU

Could be. I think I've located the throttle position one towards the front of the t/b, and would have thought inlet air-temp would be a sensor screwed in with wires coming out (rather than a plastic hose). Possibly idle control.... any idea how they work? I've had a look through Haynes...

    106 magneti marelli ECU

Let me try and describe this..... On a 106 1.1 (1994) with Mag marelli ECU there's a hose (white, about 6mm o.d.) coming out of the underside of the ECU (or around that area). It then goes into a small cylindrical box alongside the drivers side suspension turret, and then into another hose...

    106gti front springs

Anyone know if the front springs off a 106gti are lower and stiffer than stock springs on a 1.1? I presume they would be and as I can get some it'd save the cost of a set of lowering springs. Can anyone confirm if they are lower/stiffer, and do they fit the 1.1 suspension legs? thanks, phil

    lowering a 1.1

Found a great article on lowering at http://www.badgermotorsport.co.uk/lowering.htm but i've a question regarding the 1.1. In the article it says to remove the ARB bungs by unscrewing them, but i can't see any way of doing so. Is that because the 1.1 is different? Do the bungs need to be...

    pug pug

Yep, £50, couldn't walk away could I :P It's 1994 Mardi Gras. Dent on rear side, but mostly accessible from inside wheelarch so I might straighten or maybe leave alone. Doesn't foul anything and no paint broken, so not a big problem. Mot til June. Girl who owned it had a service and they...

    pug pug

Hi guys, newbie here. just bought 106 1.1 (yeah, another!) for a cheap project. Intend sprinting next year. Ok, I know 1.1 ain't the best start, but I needed a cheapy and at £50 with a bit of tax and MOT left it was a deal. Had a 924S before but sold it to start new business and needed...
