    My 407 customization exercise completed

    >Do you know what your new power and torque figures are? The car has not been dyno-ed but I am told at least 12hp over the stock 140hp so that should make it 152hp. To have the car dyno-ed in Malaysia is an expensive exercise so I don't plan to, furthermore, I am satisfied as it is but I told...

    My 407 customization exercise completed

At last, I have finally completed the customization of my ride, the last of which recently was a remapping exercise. As far as I'm concerned, the car doesn't need any more mods. The total customization package turned my car from a stock 407 into a totally different lion with emphasis on torque...

My Peugeot 407 (EW10A) exhaust system modification

Passion crept day by day and eventually I succumbed to it, if you get what I mean ;). Eventually, dream turned into reality and I had a 4-2-1 extractor customized for my car. As the local car accessory industry does not have an off-the-shelf unit specifically for my model, my extractor had to...

Which gives better fuel consumption in an auto gear?

Which gives better fuel consumption in an auto gear?

Yes, I see and agree with your point. So does that mean the triptronic mode should not be used if a driver has fuel economy in mind?

Which gives better fuel consumption in an auto gear?

Yes, yes. I mean the auto gearbox with the so-called "tiptronic" thing. So when you mean 'autobox in manual mode', you meant in "triptronic" mode? :embarrest:

Which gives better fuel consumption in an auto gear?

Technically, why is that so when they are different?

Which gives better fuel consumption in an auto gear?

Often one makes comparison in fuel consumption between a manual and automatic gearbox but here, I wish to know in cars with automatic gearbox that can shift between automatic and manual setting, which delivers better fuel consumption assuming both are driven in the same driving style?

    The second car

In Malaysia, it appears there are 2 opposing opinions on the looks of the 407: some love it and some hate it  And to think the designer took months to come up with it. Oh well, each to his own. You can't please everyone. I say live and let die.

    Fitting a 4-2-1 extractor for a 407

The 407 is a petrol version. I've been reading other sections of TorqueCars and will adopt the 4-2-1 extractor mod first followed by a remap later though the whole exercise will not be so soon as I have to first acquire the 407 from the Mrs. so wish me well :toung: :embarrest:

    Fitting a 4-2-1 extractor for a 407

The Peugeot service centre mechanic said there is but how many I did not ask. As for the 4-2-1 extractor, it has to be customized as this particular model is not available locally but I know the exhaust specialist who can do it.

    Fitting a 4-2-1 extractor for a 407

Yes to question 1 but to question 2, who said I don't intent to change the rest of the exhaust system? I definitely will. I was just being specific. Still my question was not answered which is not really the answer I sought.

Now may I suggest all those threads relating to the 407 currently under the Peugeot forum be moved there. Makes the place more tidy don't you think so? :cheesy:

    Fitting a 4-2-1 extractor for a 407

I am desirous of fitting a 4-2-1 extractor for the 407 because I enjoy low end torque and have even seen such items sold over the internet. However, I was told by the Peugeot service centre mechanic that whilst it is possible to fit that extractor, the electronic malfunction idiot light will...

How come there is no specific sub-forum for the Peugeot 407 or should it be 405/406/407 Sub-forum and if it were to be, why is it not?

    kia shuma II

Yes, the first time, it was lowered really low, I forget was it 4 or 5 cm? Cornering could be done fast, say 110-120kph as against what the average guy does at 80kph. However, you will note I did many mods to control body roll which the car cannot do without to handle fast cornering. It was...

Yes but it depends how drastic you are willing to reduce ground clearance. It becomes a question of comfort vs. performance and no one can answer that but you AFTER trying it out.:P

How to optimize an overdrive button?

I have been driving a manual gear car most of my life so when I got my first auto gear car, this thing called an overdrive button in the gear shaft came into my life. I am not sure if I am using it correctly as there is not much info on that and many people I ask NEVER even use it at all. But...

    Any modified Kias out there

Yes, there is one out there in Malaysia and that's mine. Wait till I reach 10 post and I'll put it up in the member's gallery. Many people said since I painted my car, it doesn't look at all like a KIA Spectra. That's my teaser for you.

Hi I am from Malaysia and own a 1600cc KIA Spectra. It has gone through a number of modification mainly to improve handling, performance and make it safe to ride. It is called a KIA Shuma in other countries. I guess it depends in which country you are. There are quite a number of mod parts for...

    407: battery secure latch

Unlike most cars that have battery latch which can be locked with a spanner, the 407 battery latch that secures the battery in place requires a plug, extension rod and ratchet. Does anyone know the size of that plug? I need to keep a spare in the glove compartment in case of a breakdown.

407:Direct charging from alternator to battery

I added a thick copper power cable (forgot power rating but it's about the size of a pencil) from the alternator to the positive battery terminal of my KIA Spectra and all my 3 batteries have lasted at least 2 1/2 years replaced only to avoid inconvenience of a breakdown eventhough the meter...

I am curious to know whether I will get better torque from remapping or a complete exhaust system upgrade i.e. 4-2-1 extractor, mid and rear exhaust. Any advise?
