Is it possible to get dampers repaired? Mr2 has a leaking damper, their Potenza street & their really hard to come by.
I've asked around & everybody just says 'replace'.
Just describing some people who are definitely Users. Not implying their stupid, just more concerned with money then driving.
Users are very left brained. Drivers are very right brained...Well that's how I think of it.
Figured it out...the crankshaft sensor is wonky, must have happened when the fan belt flew off.
Not an easy place to get to but I'm glad I've found the cause.
(The wire from the crank sensor is just kinda dangling next to the fan belt. Bit vulnerable really. Think I'm gonna cable tie it to...
Still haven't started the FTO:blink:
There doesn't seem to be power going to 2 of the 3 coil packs. So I'm thinking that running it on a flat battery has killed a sensor somewhere...
OK, I have a slight problem. I was playing about in the FTO tother night when the fan belt failed. So I kept driving it with the battery going flatter & flatter & when I turned it off it wouldn't start again.
Next day a newly charged battery & fan belt...no start. It cranks, its got spark &...
But thats a 3.0l toyota truck engine isn't it?
I think the FTO engine would be great in it, cos it revs to 8200rpm & MIVEC is great....Love it:bigsmile:
I vote that manufacturers should start remaking some of their much loved older cars & mixing & matching some engines around. Like the new Toyota 86 with a Subaru engine...
What car/engine/transmission mix ups would you like to see?
Just bought an FTO GPX MIVEC off the back of a tow truck. Its a bit of a shed but the engine is great, the tiptronic gearbox is great. I wonder why Mitsubishi never used this engine & gearbox setup in anything ells?!
I wish I could have this engine in my MR2 with a manual transmission:)
Passed 1st time theory, hazard & practical. Had an accident within about 8 months.
I learned to pass a predefined test. Not how to handle a car, not how be good & safe in traffic. All that stuff comes later, which is the problem I have with the current test.
Wheel shuffling for example...
Why do people pull out in front of me all the time? They see me coming, they just assume I'm gonna be doing the speed limit & out they come.
Seen the same thing happen to bikers quite a lot too.
No tax, no MOT, clicking CV joint, rubbish brakes, blowing exhaust, faded LCD display, broken drivers seat, speedo not working, Cracked interior plastics, £200! Guess that's too much work for some people.
No idea what their made of but it must be something inferior. I didn't expect them to last this long when I bought them, just wanted them to hold out long enough for a few races.
But I've gotta praise them after all this time.
Bought this Audi for £200...Can't wait to see how much I can sell it for.
It now has: Lowered springs & sport dampers (some German company www.supersport.de).
New brakes & EBC Ultimax pads all round.
Body kit.
Leather bucket seats.
LCD headrest (broke one of them).
All thats missing now is a...
I'd like to give a shout out to these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-RED-1998-2002-Honda-Accord-Adjustable-Lowering-Coilover-Coil-Springs-Kit-/330863407779?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3APrelude&hash=item4d08fef2a3
I've had them on the red Lude with Koni sport dampers since...
It just occured to me that I've never crashed a car in slippery conditions...I tend to crash in the summer time on nice dry, hot tarmac usually pushing myself or my car as far as I can.
I gave my sister a lift driving on ice once & she went almost hysterical, so I don't think its due to my...
How many people have driven the cars their voting for?
Having never driven a GT or a Mustang I voted for Mondeo! I hate them normally but if its a mk2 ST200 then I think its the best all-rounder from the list...
