    has it been thought of?

The offset in wieght would be counteracted by the sealing material needed to fill all those weight reduction holes they drill in the chasis not to mention it would now have to be boxed frame.

    Wonky cars & fat people

Just thought of the proper response "If you don't like it, Stop following me. and my cars not wonky"

    Wonky cars & fat people

The drift impression is caused by a cheap bastage going for the 2 wheel alignment rather than 4 wheel align. Sure looks funny going down the road...huh.

    My first "on track" foray

Had Yok's on the Audi. (Avid A4S IIRC) Found them to be better than the Conti ProContact in rain but about the same in dry, generally just OK. Like you said, wear was an issue. About half the mileage compared to Conti's and they were terrible in the snow. My newer Audi has the Conti...

    My first "on track" foray

Proxies T-1R's They start to break smoothly just like you want them to, then they catch abruptly and release again. Kind of like Instant graining, very unsettling in a hard corner.

    Speed, acceleration or cornering grip

I've got to agree completely. Speed is nothing without acceration, acceleration is nothing without decceleration, deceleration is nothing without cornering and cornering is nothing without speed. Evidence...200MPH on the salt flats...big deal...cornering into your driveway...so what...braking...

    My first "on track" foray

The Ferrari Club of America, Empire state region had its meet at Limerock Park here in CT. I went with a bunch of buddies just like I always do. After lunch the park decided to provide 15 mins for a "parade lap" of any car that wanted to circle the track. Its fairly normal for them to do but its...

Do you have a very brown right arm

Or I need to purchase a euro model with RH drive. Or maybe I'm just destined to be unbalanced..that would explain all those voices in my head. :blink1: You talking about me Shut up No You shut up

Do you have a very brown right arm

I'm so unbalanced I have to brace myself in the direct sunlight for fear of spinning like a solar motor.

    iridium spark plugs

Back in the 70's I ran NGK's in my bikes. They seemed very stable at high RPM but were Pre-Iridium. Due to those experiences, I run NGK Iridium in my Ferrari. I recently got 175,000 miles out of a set of Bosch Iridium's in my A3 (installed by the factory). I changed them because I thought I...

    Ummm Hello?

First off...lemme correct a typo...Car was a 2006 model purchased new in 2007 not 1997. Dunno how I made that mistake. My sons Jeep is a 1997...that must be it. Niggles...Yes. The first day I owned the car I got a CEL. Dealer had no explanation. I talked him in to a 100K warrantee...

    Ummm Hello?

2.0T in both of them. Like the engine alot....love the DSG. When I bought the car, it was a compromise. I wanted a stick but Wifey can't drive one and won't learn. The DSG seemed like the perfect solution. Direct connection to the road, quick (enough) shifts, but easy on the leg in serious...

    Ummm Hello?

I'd like to say something a bit fresher than "Hello, Newbie here" but alas...there's not much more one can say in his introductory line. I have what I believe to be the highest mileage A3 in the world given its age. I bought it new in ?march? of 1997 as a left over 06 model with <100 miles...
