Its wobbling front to back, like the engine is swinging forwards and backward. Plugs were changed in July 2010. Its not stalling or missing. Feels like the engine and gearbox are just swinging in the wind lol.

Removed all the valves last night. All buckets look good, valves are all slightly cokey and pitted but nothing more than you'd expect on a car with 92k on. All will be thoroughly cleaned and valves will all be reseated. The spark issue. Im going to fit a new camshaft position sensor and...

Ok. The state of play now is as follows: Head is off and all valves and pistons look fine, im having it all thoroughly checked out today. Still not sure whats causing the lack of number 2 spark. Its not the coil or the plug. Will update again tomorrow.

We checked/replaced all coils and plugs to no end, still no spark on 2. Its the lack of compression on 2 which scares me :confused: I'll know more tonight when we whip the head off. I'll keep you posted.

So.... I'm driving along at about 40mph and my car decides to run on three cylinders, then two, then three etc. I pull up at the side of the road and it dies, it won't restart. I get it recovered to my mates workshop where we swap coil packs (number two isn't sparking) and crankshaft sensor...

Im currently running a Forge Split-R which is a direct fit but if i want to run it as a conventional bov later on i'll need to blank off pipes and stuff. Iv seen golfs with nice silicone hoses which relocate the bov to the front of the engine bay and do away with the recirculation stuff.

Get your hands on a welder, borrow a ramp, cut off the cat and resonator box. Replace with a straight pipe - 2.25" diameter. It'l sound a little sportier and breath LOADS better but won't tick the neighbours off :)

Nah lol. But. It does spool up ALOT quicker, you can properly hear the turbo and you can tell there is alot less resistance in the system. Just to let you all know iv solved the exhaust issue, for now at least. Bought a length of 2.25" mild steel exhaust pipe. Cut off the entire centre section including cat and resonator box and replaced with straight pipe (having welded the hanger on). The result is a much throatier sound...

So.... Which is louder; cotton, paper or foam filters? Do those weird plastic shrouded universal kits make more or less noise then an exposed cone? Is loudness directly related to flow rate or surface area? Would a small cotton cone make the same sound as a large paper or foam one?

I just stuck a set of Eibach Pro-kit Springs on my standard shocks.... Its a little lower and looks smart but rides just the same as on stock springs. When you put proper wheels on it you'll have virtually limitless grip!

Anyone ever installed a set of 6.5"s in the little storage bins in the front doors of an Audi A3....? Its the perfect size! If i modified the door card slightly i could mount a 6.5" woofer in there with a crossover and bring a little more bass into the front of the cabin to back up the poxy...

The pitch of the whine changes with engine speed.... I had this with the Jag instal.... Alternator whine. Don't know what'd cause it in this though?

HAHA! Cool. They were absolutely lethal but at the same time wicked good fun! If you, like me, want a rocket powered rollerskate of a hot hatch rather than a big heavy modern affair then the MG Metro Turbo on an empty B-road is Nirvana.
