    Thanks T9, my fleet is actually dwindling I am down to only 4 cars and one of those is sale pending! Trouble is they are all insured so it gets a bit expensive!!

    Yes TFR as we called it is the stuff you want, neat in the engine bay but diluted for underwings and sills etc, its really mostly used in the road haulage business:blink1:

    Trying to isolate a drivetrain problem

    Previous owner might have tried DIY lowering by cutting off a coil from the standard spring and losing the locating tang on the end of the coil, causing the spring to rotate in its mounting cups , especially noticed on full lock:blink1:

    Yes correct, the tyres were 195/50/15, which I believe are standard on 1.9 GTi Pug but not lesser models apparently:confused:

    Hello, I live in France (ex pat) miss the UK car scene, classics, modified and VW shows but to balance it we do have a LOT more sun. French car do's are full of err!
