    vtec in earlier?

Okay... so I'm looking at modifying a 98 1.8 vtec Accord and I'd really like the vtec in as early as I can (preferably all the time or like 2000 revs) but I have NO idea where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, what is the other cable that runs opposite the throttle cable...

    Dodgy earth?

Okay... so my drivers side indicator is on and is staying on. No flashing, still on when the ignitions off. All of the indicators are on: front, side and rear. Is it a dodgy earth maybe? Or a fuse?

    Where is the resevoir?

Thanks =) So if you were changing the clutch would you still need to bleed the system? If so then how?

    1998 93 2.0t clutch advice

A mate of mines 93s clutch is on the way out. He asked me if the 93, 900, 9000, etc clutches are transferable. I had no idea so I thought I'd jump on here and ask around. His engine is the redtop, if this makes a difference. Thanks folks

Corsa 1.2 engine stall when cold

Yeah, i have exactly the same thing! Its a 2001 and the engine management light is on and occasionally it stalls right after I start it when cold. If you give it a rev before it falls back to idle speed it doesn't happen. I put it into the garage and the guy came back to me and said that it...

What sorta work am I looking at?

What do you mean the activating mechanism? Sorry, I'm really not acquainted with these kinds of engines. They're twin cam right? Do you mean the mechanism that switches from one cam profile to the other? Is that how twin cam engines work? Thanks

What sorta work am I looking at?

Hey guys. I'm looking into buying a Honda Accord 1.8 V-Tec but somethings up. Bottom end if fine, up to 3000 revs its like a normal car, but trying to get this thing to redline... OMG its like flogging a dead horse... I'm of the understanding that V-Tec engines were designed to have the...

    Renault Megane Oil reccommendation

The manual does have reccommendations but its done in the format of a diagram that has so many different grades based on temperature and the diagram is very small and complicated. It doesn't even mention whether synthetic or semi-synthetic is the oil to go with. Its a 2002 megane mk1 facelift...

    Renault Megane Oil reccommendation

Hi I'm just about to service the car and god knows what crap the previous owner fired in the engine and the cars manual is completely incomprehensible so what would you recommend? Synthetic or not? I don't even know what grade or make would be the best. Theres no serious mods made to the...

Legal Implications of lowering a car

True, but as far as I know those regulations are relative to the dimensions of the car. If not then someone let me know. Cheers

Legal Implications of lowering a car

Does anyone know about the law reguarding how low cars can be? I can't seem to find anything on the internet with the police seemingly more put-out by tinted windows and undercar lighting, but I have a wee red flag going up in the back of my head and a few stories by mates to back it up. Any...

    Steering wheel question

Yeah, its just a couple of inches. I'll have a look around for whether or not the up-market models have adjustable stering and to what extent. Cheers for the advice guys

    Steering wheel question

I'm Quite a tall guy and I have long legs compared to my arms and while the meganes steering wheel is adjustable up and down its not adjustable in and out. This means to get close enough to the steering wheel I have to get too close to operate the pedals properly and to get to the right...

    Flywheel lightening

So really ideally I'd need to drive a megane with a lightened flywheel to see what it would be like and whether or not it would suit me... which also makes good common sense.
  25. A

    Flywheel lightening

Hahahaha Thought I might as well ask, but what you said sounds like good common sense. More weight to make go round = the need for something heavy to turn said weight. Do you think it would make a difference if I only take off a very slight amount of weight relatively speaking?
  26. A

    Flywheel lightening

Ah... you're right enough.... Fair do's it is probably worthwhile to avoid it. Thanks for all the advice... unless someone disagrees with MasterAuron and Old-git

    Flywheel lightening

Well the car is only 1000 kilos... which sounds bizzare but its light for a car =P As for the flywheel, i'm not so sure of the weight. Its not for a gain in speed for the car its for a greater driveablity. I like a car that revs nice and freely. I wouldn't go mad, just enough to rev up quicker...

    Flywheel lightening

Cheers guys. I was wondering about the speed-loss on hills and the likes of motorway driving. How bad is it? I've never driven anything with a lightened flywheel on it that was road-going so I really don't know.

    Flywheel lightening

Has anyone attempted to lighten their flywheel and could tell me if its worthwhile? I'm not looking to take LOADS of weight off it just a kilo or 2. No more than that.

    Pedal Covers

I think it does. Maybe thats an idea getting them off of the more modern renault sport ones... should be transferable enough. I didn't know that rubber was a requirement, just sounds like common sense.

    Pedal Covers

My mk1 megane is getting old now and the brake and accelerator pedal covers are a bit worn down so I'm thinking of getting some nice new ones. Theres only two provisos they have to be metal (for longevity) and they have to have rubber grips on them (cause metal is as slippy as hell when its wet...
