    go kart on the road!!

I disagree, i know the guy who built and drove that car...that M3 would not have a chance at any circuit against that metro im afraid :D

    2nd car. 106 rallye/gti v 306 dturbo v primera gt v fiesta 1.6(99-02)

Might upset a few here but...Fiesta is #!#!#!#!...slow and not too reliable. 106 ...the gti will be faster both in the corners and in a straight line, but even worse reliability than the fezza. 306 d turbo... handling worst out of the lot listed, but nippy with a remap. Its a diesel though...

    Elise alternative for Light Entertainment

There are enough left mate, you could buy one alrady done too (i know of one for sale for £2650 (i know its a lot for a metro but to build one the same spec you will need upwards of 8k...) 175bhp in a 850kg car will be enough to embarass many cars on track (elise? PAH!) Or build one...

    Elise alternative for Light Entertainment

You can get a metro handling as well as an elise for sub £500, and easily as fast too, and who expects it? Or an MGF is quite close.

If you had to stay with one marque which would it be?

I think Wayne is close/on the dot with Toyota, got the Yaris with the RS version, Glanza/GT, MR2, Supra (with one of the greatest engines ever) as well as family wagons, pickups etc etc...

    Custom Induction Kits

Thats an intercooler :amuse: Ive not only made my own kit but relocated from the standard position to shorten the pipework and keep pressure drop to a minimum, as far as i know im the only person who has relocated it to where i have. If you make your own, dont use convoluted pipework, use...

    Newly old Battery -_-

You reversed the connections? Step away from the car and take it to a garage. Assuming you wont do that...have you let the battery drain down completely at any point? they dont like that and it can #!#!#!#! them basically. Take the little caps off and check you have fluid covering...

    Funny exhuast noise

The part you removed from the air intake is probably there to prevent noise of a certain resonant frequency that can be produced due to the size/shape of the intake piping

    Yahoo Best 1st Cars.

Thats a terrible list....the saxo and KA are both terrible cars, and unreliable. I'm not being biased as i've owned a few cars and driven a LOT of cars, and japanese cars have to be the best choice for a first time driver. Easy to drive, reliable (wont be at the garage getting it fixed all the...

    Toyota Glanza's

Get out :toung: Pretty much true though....handling can be sorted by fitting a nice set of coilovers to get them up to par, then there are so many other handling tweaks you can do to make them handle even better. Interior i disagree about, seats arent the nicest but the dash is set out...

    Throttle body O ring

Not on the 56mm TB dude ;)
  17. Munday

    so whats next?

I think the standard injectors are fine, what they are probably getting at is that they wont run as well on standard managment (not a problem for you) but it will need a remap to run at its best. You would also benefit from some vernier pulleys and get them set up using Dave Andrews cam timing...

    tyre advice

You cant expect people to try out every tyre can you? The views i state come from many peoples opinions, including tyre fitters. I have personal experience with Paradas, F1s and s drives, and from what i hear the T1Rs are just about up to scratch with the s drives....IE...Not all that great

    Throttle body O ring

Re: Throttle body Standard cable should fit it? Try a local motorfactors mate
  20. Munday

    so whats next?

They are the dowells on the camshaft sprocket, and change the cam timing without needing adjustable pulleys, Dave Andrews does them for a good price 200bhp is achievable without a turbo though...although pretty expensive. Great power can still be had from NA, most people if running a vvc...

    tyre advice

Do the saxos have a brake bias valve that compensates for extra weight in the back by increasing rear braking force? On lowered cars it thinks the back is fully loaded and the rear brakes lock up easily. As for the tyres...The Eagle F1 GSD3s are the dogs, but in the dry the R888s surpass...
  22. Munday

    so whats next?

No im not saying convert to vvc, you can use the vvc head but blank off the vvc mechs and run normal camshafts, its a better designed head than the one currently on your car. As long as the porting and polishing is done well (and bigger valves are used with 3/5 angle valve seats) then you will...

    Throttle body O ring

You dont need to use and o ring, you can make a gasket out of a cereal box no problem :) I'm actually being serious too As for remapping the standard rover ecu, ive only heard of one company doing it called reidy remaps (google them) your other option is getting a standalone ecu like emerald
  24. Munday

    so whats next?

Have you got a full spec to post up? The head is quite restricive on these, you are best off getting that ported and polished with bigger valves before using throttle bodies, or getting a vvc head and converting it to sold cam with a piper vvc blanking kit (it has bigger valves and is better...

Oh what to do??? 206 is getting expensive...

I've always said this and i always will....French cars are utter #!#!#!#!. I would NEVER ever own one. Driven them quite a bit, the gearboxes are always horrible, the engines crap, and whenever they are ion for an MOT they always fail on things that cars so new shouldnt be having problems...

    MOT horror stories

Re: different size tyres. Exactly :)
  31. Munday

    different size tyres.

Only if you get better tyres than what you had before...wider tyres dont give you a larger contact patch, the only things that determine that are the weight acting on the tyre and the pressure inside it. The only thing to look out for is if you have a 4x4, different rolling radius front to...

    HP & Torque??

Torque is the turning force from the engine, HP is calculated using the torque (cant remember the formula right now) its related to revs too, which is why on a rolling road graph the power/torque always cross at 5252(?) rpm Its a common misconception that you need torque to have a quick car...
