    The problem with insurance is...

I think the car insurance system needs to be change, because it's just a profit making system for the insurance companies. insurance should be there to cover accidents when they happen, not take money from many people that don't even have accidents. Why don't insurance policies cost nothing and...

    Most reliable supercar?

yea, they just collect dust in the garage and get taken to go shopping every other weekend by their fat and rich owners.... I'm just joking about the owners!

How many of you have more than one car?

The M3 is crap. You should at least get a formula 1 car or something faster.

Would you want your first car back

i wouldn't want my old rustbucket porsche 911 back, its brakes sometimes wore down! now i'm driving a bugatti veyron and never have those problems.

    Car scrappage scheme

I guess it's more useful when the money you save by scrapping it is more than what you would get from haggling down the price traditionally and selling your old car privately...

    Cut Up

I usually forget to use my horn too, because I'm concentrating on avoiding a collision. And a horn doesn't help in most circumstances anyway, only makes more anger. But if you're using it to get their attention, then fair enough. I think the people that do it either haven't passed a driving...

    Does MPG matter to you

For me, I prefer a compromise between power and fuel efficiency, but the thing which governs most of all what I'd buy (as a young and new driver) is whether I would be able to afford the insurance costs on that car. So i would look for the fastest car which falls in that insurance group, and...

    Best car for drift?

I personally find drifting as a sport to be quite pathetic and a waste of time. At least in rallying the driver is using oversteer to get round the stage as fast as possible, unlike in drifting "competitions" which doesn't seem to have any particular aim.. anyway, I guess light cars are better...

Whats wound you up this week

I really hate those temporary traffic lights, they are set on an unnecessarily long delay and half of the time you're waiting there for 5 minutes with no traffic coming the other way.

well it could be worse, at least the car isn't white for example. p.s. after reading the article, it's a lovely car

4 wheel steering, is it any good?

I see what you mean with the drifting similarity, i have thought to myself before the same question (if 4 wheel steering would give better traction than front wheel steering) The answer is no, because if it was any good, race cars would use it. ! however, it does give you a great advantage in...

Tyre pressures how do you choose yours

I do it by feel, and the dodgy pressure gauge on my foot pump.

100bhp more would you drive differently

I doubt my car could cope for long with that much power.. I'd guess it has somewhere in the region of 60 hp effectively , given it's age.. and with 100 more it would just torque steer the whole time.. But it would be fun!

    Use of motorway signs

ahahaha, nice one.. I think they should definitely tell jokes from time to time, as long as they are short and not too hard to read so they take the drivers' eyes off the road. it would increase driver happiness at least.

    First Car, 1.2 or 1.4?

hi there, you don't only want to be looking at horsepower, but more importantly the weight of a car. in terms of acceleration, the mass is just as important as the engine power, so something light like a saxo, 106 or clio from the 90s (basically the same car) would be best option i guess...

    Another noob here

thank you for the welcome. as for the astra, it's my everday road car so I can't do any major performance modifications without the insurance costs going up, as i'm still a "new driver" But when a new car comes up in a few months (hopefully), I can use the astra as a toy, and make some race...

Can anyone talk me through what exactly lb/ft torque is?

I wanted to know a bit more than that, for example is it the torque of the wheel rotating or the engine which is measured? or is it both the same? I still don't fully understand it, even though I have a decent knowledge of maths and physics.

Is depreciation the biggest cost in motoring

for a sensible car, I would say buying used is best in most cases. Except if a brand new car comes out that you fall in love with and must have, then buying new is worth the extra price

    Hello, i'm new here!

    Another noob here

Hi all, just making my first post. To introduce myself (if anyone is interested), I'm a student living in England. I started go-karting when I was 8 years old but unfortunately I stopped after only a year or so. Now I regret giving up go-karting immensely because I started young enough to be...
