I seem to be able to post at anytime and get a reply from the regulars....

Does anybody on TorqueCars actually have a job and/or leave the house!? :p

That explains you then :p It's amazing how many people don't have traditional 9-5 jobs.

I run a web hosting company, so I tend to work whenever I am needed. Providing nothing goes wrong - most of my day can be spent persuing new sales and answering basic support tickets - in between posting on Torque Cars ;)

I am a web designer so as I'm online most of the time I frequently check in! The only time the forum is quiet is around 2-4am UK local time! My maintainance slot is getting narrower and narrower.

I bet you get some pretty daft support tickets rob!;) I've created an endless PHP loop which emails a message to me. The server is now locking up and I'm getting loads of emails!

We sell alot of dedicated servers - the best two we get are...

"oops, I shutdown the server - can you turn it back on again please?"

and...

"I've disabled the network card and now I can't get remote desktop to work"

We've since solved the "i turned off the server" crap. Some .NET code later and our customer portal can talk to the servers baseboard controller so customers can turn the damn thing back on themselves !!

i have a job as a self employed painter & decorator so i choose my own hours like today i woke up at 6:00 and thought nah so i went in at 12 for a half day

im a vinyl graphics designer/maker

work for myself, spend most of the time sat at the laptop working so can pop in and out of here whenever really :)

I'm a Thermal Insulation Engineer working at Cottom power station at the moment, was up at 5, started work at 7.30, finished at 7 and home now. Sounds bad but that's because you don't know what I get paid ;)

At the minute i'm a full time dad. Will be either going back to college next year or getting a job. When my sons starts full time school anyways.

It appears from the replies so far that I am the only one with a 'normal' 9-5 job :)

Work for Essex County Council trying to maintain the highway network so we can rush around with our cars' undersides only 50mm from the surface :)

Im a Harbour Master down here on the Cornish Riviera ( Reminds me to update my profile). The title sounds glamorous but I seem to spend most of my time mixing barrow load after barrow load of cement and catching up with all the maintainence jobs the last HM let slip.

I live here in the states so that explains my presence on this site at this hour. I am a Safety Systems Consultant. I provide sales support for Emergency Shutdown System, Fire and Gas applications, and Burner Management Systems. These are usually in refineries, power plants, process plants, and offshore platforms. All very high availability control systems, usually redundant and complying with safety standards set here in the states and abroad by TUV.

Probably more than you wanted to know but there you go. I love cars and the thrill of high performance driving.

P.S. Can you tell I am trying to get to my 10th post by all means?

Too right! Then we can see some pics :) (Hot polls is a good place for a post count boost!)

I work 9-5, hence all my posts between those hours!

Work as a teacher/tutor, helping adults with no qualifications get qualifications.

One plus is that all my salary is funded, which is kinda like getting my tax back :D

IM A MAINTENENCE ENGINEEER FOR BOURNE LEISURE WORK VARIOUS SHIFTS :D COULDNT DO 9-5

I currently work as a drainage engineer for a well nationally known plumbing/drainage company.

Hours are either 24hrs Monday to Monday, or generally 8am till finish Monday to Friday.

Cheers
Dave

Yea! I'm another who actually works a 8am to 5pm job as an auto parts interpreter - sounds good but it's not - just a parts counter sales person. Work in a 4x4 specialist shop with parts, accessories, big workshop and breakdown recovery. Spend my spare time (after i have done the household chores) building alloy racing engines for speedway cars.
