I left my car parked under a tree over Christmas whilst we went away (which was a complete debarcle as the airports were closed/delayed) and I can't believe the crud that the car is covered in.

I didn't think they leaked sap and leaves and I think every bird in the county has used my car roof as a latrine!

I think I'm going to have to have a major cleaning session, if the paint has survived.

Next time I think it will pay to have proper covered parking at the NCP.

trees do that to paint for some reason, a friend of mine parks his under a tree on his driveway and at the moment there it has a covering about 2/3mm thick of brown crud, he says it's embarrassing to be seen in it and i'm inclined to agree with him lol

This happened to a van i bought and what i done was i got petrol and a rag and cleaned the whole body down and imediatly polished it the vans was like new it was white gone green and a cream colour its now bright white .

It might look strange to my neigbours if I started spraying petrol over my car. Knowing my luck it would catch light before I finished it!

The gunk you get on your car when parked under a tree isn't all tree sap, a large proportion of it is actually bug poo.

Every day's a school day kids!

lovely

rather than petrol get some tardis on it - petrol will evaporate off quicker, the tardis will allow longer time. if you cant get tardis then any tar remover.

wash
dry
polish
dry
and wax

Hope you got it all off. I'd be tempted to take it to the local hand car wash and let them do the hard work, then apply a good wax when you get home.

i had a white escort that started turning yellow after being left under the trees for a couple of weeks - this seemed to be mainly sap residue and the stickiness got everywhere, had to end up T Cutting the whole thing.

I'd be inclined to second this though it would likely be the neighbors and there matches that have incouraged it. Though slightly justified due to small alley-ways and louds as all get out exhaust on my car. Coupled with my often arrivals at between 1 and 4 in the A.M. LOL

P.S.- Isn't the Tardis the police booth the Doctor arrives in!?!? LOL

Id say thats why i got no reaction on my street the neighbours would be only delighted i never had a quiet car ha ,no but joking aside the petrol and a cloth will get any mark off the car, brilliant for removing the tar .

I wouldn't wash too hard, dont forget its a rover! :p

I have a good mate who is an archiologyst, maby I can get you some of his dusting/cleaning equipment so that you dont damage the specimin!!!! lol

its lovely smelling stuff isnt it.
also dont store in plastic spray bottles as it will eat the seals so next time you spray it goes everyhere.

should also have said stay away from the ebay sellers of tardis, go see an autosmart rep. your looking at around £18 for 5ltrs i was warned that theres is certain sellers watering it down on the bay
