    handheld remapping devices

didnt realise the whole flash counter thing. Thing is however, I dont trust insurance companies and realise fully that they are all out to make money from you and do so in devious ways. One issue is when you renew insurance and later declare, because your already in that insurance 12 mnth set...

    Mondeo remap

Parkers.co.uk lists the mondeo st as putting out 360nm torque with 265 lb/ft but on overboost (when you floor it, this can rise to 400nm and 295lb ft respectivly. A modern remap would leave the car outputting the same figures as the overboost (but just normally and not in overboost if you know...

what kind of an insurance hike are you looking at (percentage) would it be as much as 50%?

    handheld remapping devices

My thoughts are that the map could be wiped possibly by servicing. Then what? Other thoughts are that for some you can reinstall original for insurance reasons if you have not declared. I think I read something on here about people not declaring to insurance companies. One could argue, why...

Begs a good question then. Do most users on here flash their own ecu this way if they have their motor mapped at all.

    jerky boost?

yeah I speaking about the new 136bhp 2.0hdi. But then again the figures given by superchips for this are 158bhp / 366nm / 272lb ft - significantly different than celtictuning??????????? Then again, I dont know or at least I have to get my head around figures that may or may not be quoted...

    jerky boost?

Consideing the aforementioned figures, it seems that the 407 is a better prospect for tuning - 205 bhp / 335lb ft once tuned YOur previous model -190bhp and 320lb ft seems incredible. The 2.0 HDI remap quotes 185 bhp and 320 lb ft which seems fantastic also given that it is only a group...

    jerky boost?

Parkers figures for ST - 152bhp / 360nm / 265lb ft BLuefin figures suggest - 182 / 403 / 298 lb ft HOwever I wonder how the 'overboost' is affected. ie supoosedly the st has an overboost facilty when floored which produces 400nm and 295lb ft. Will that inevitably increase witht the remap...

    jerky boost?

Interesting What kind of torque figures are available for these after remap? Also, do the newer 407 2.2 HDI's remap as well as the older models? Is it still the same engine? Cheers

Diesel - no longer dirty and slow - no longer cost effective>>>>????

yeah the 06 / 07 models are PD and the new CR I think 08. For some reason the AUdi a4 with the 170bhp tdi can be chipped to more than the other seat / volks / skodas. (bluefin projections) Why would this be the case?

Diesel - no longer dirty and slow - no longer cost effective>>>>????

Still considering one of the VAG PD TDI 170 engines which give a respectable 400+ torque and 200+bhp when chipped Does the mondy have a diesel particulate filter? When or how often does it need cleaned?

Diesel - no longer dirty and slow - no longer cost effective>>>>????

I dont really understand why this is. The VAG PD engines can be serviced every 20k I think and even if it was 12k is that not the same as petrol engines? Never thought the cost differed but then again, I talking about an independent mechanic or garage doing it def not the dealers (rip off) I...

Diesel - no longer dirty and slow - no longer cost effective>>>>????

yup straight out of mondy. I guess since it was the first v6 I ever had or drove it just seemed so much smoother to me. No wasn't amazingly fast either but made a big diff from my xsara before that. What kinda v6 is available out there these days with slightly better economy? Maybe I just need...

Diesel - no longer dirty and slow - no longer cost effective>>>>????

Don't know now. I loved the v6 smoothness. Def something special. Economy just too sore. If I could find something in the middle. Maybe the vag2.0 t is the answer
