How would you set up a sprint car?

Keep in mind, those are the racers you know. The racers in my circles eat, breath, and live it. And when you take something so seriously, the technical makes a huge difference. Especially when the skill level of the drivers are all so equally matched, the smallest technicality can make the...

    Intercooler Questions

Thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to build this to be a racer. This build is with the intention to be my DD (Daily Driver) with some balls when the time need be. I'm modifying the stock VG30DET. If I were to go balls out, I would drop an RB26DETT and mash the pedal. I am somewhat...

    Intercooler Questions

I'm modifying an '88 Z31 for speed, but I'm confused. My process begins with the exhaust, intake, boost controller, and now... I/C. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a I/C kit but don't have to tools to make my own, or the time to be that creative. I found this kit...

    Maybe its fuel?

Okay, I was fiddling with it some more. I removed the hoses that went into each carb and turned it over. They both gave, what I think were, pretty good spurts of gas. I did test with a cup as SLEEPER had suggested and there was no water in my lines. I was going to check the plugs but I was too...

    Maybe its fuel?

Trying to get my car running. Has two SU carbs. The recent issue seems to be the filter. A friend sucked the gas out and said if tasted like water (i thought that was a rather unorthodox method). After bypassing the filter with clean gasoline we turned the motor over as it drank more and more...

    Fix or Replace??

I planned on keeping the engine and all the parts regardless (in the event I ever wanted to sell it, thats when "worth" comes into play in my eyes.) Turns out, the car will run. I still may have bad rings, but the reason it wasnt starting and idle-ing is because (I assume) the inline fuel...

    Fix or Replace??

I have an L24 in my 1972 Datsun 240z but it appears to have worn rings AND I'll have to replace the valve guides and seats so it can run on unleaded gasoline (Im from the states). Should I go through all of that, or get a new motor (RB25DET or SR20DET)? Opinions are much appreciated.

    Where do i even begin???

Jarrus, its no sweat. I'm 17, a full time student, and drive my dad's car when I NEED to get somewhere. I love her, but she can be decomissioned for a little. Picassononwheels, there is nothing wrong with being repetitive. It shows you're firm in your decision/advice. It's much better than...

    Where do i even begin???

OK. I have been so caught up in school and athletics that I haven't been able to tend to my precious Datsun. I have am almost positive it is a ring/boring issue. I noticed my starter was turning slowly and had it tested, which it failed. Got a new one and it fired up, but.... it would not idle...

High Oil Pressure But No Oil???

Wouldnt that be the same as Seafoam? I know that was added to the old oil and caused carbon deposits to billow from the exhaust and coat the rear with carbon (such a pain to wash off).

High Oil Pressure But No Oil???

Just read an article that just told me flushing my motor may be very bad. http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local-beat/flushservices.html

High Oil Pressure But No Oil???

Car: 1972 Datsun 240z Problem: High Oil Pressure When i turn the car to the on position, the oil pressure gauge sweeps just below 90 psi (the top of my guage). It used to be even higher than that but recently came down a bit. What really confuses me is that I just drained every drop of oil...
