Rover 45 - No compression in 1 cylinder

I have just changed the head gasket on my 2002 Rover 45 1.6 litre engine. I now have no compression on cylinder 3, all others are within spec. Can anyone advise how to diagnose fault as I understand it could be a number of sources i.e. valves, piston, rings or liners.
