That would be true if my car was standard with no modifications but it already has full widebody kit and getting this done to another car would be even more expensive so i think it still would be the best option to go for the conversion.

Im looking into doing a conversion in my 1.1 206 and possibly gonna put in 1.6 as its still very economical statistically. Would that be a straight swap or do I still need to put in other parts. What car should I get as a donor car.

i intend to buy a donor car so I will probably use these GTI parts in my 1.1

I think going ahead with bigger engine is worth it...as I would say that Im getting 30 mpg right now where statistically I should be getting 45 mpg which is a lie.

well thats why my 206 is not as economical as I thought it should be as I have one of them filters, I might replace it back to standard to see if it makes a difference. I still have a loud exhaust to make that loud noise so thats fine.

but the problem is that buying a car with bigger engine is gonna be a pain with insurance but getting a 2.0 in 1.1 without notifying of the changes still be a lot cheaper

whats wrong with the open cone filter?? does it messes up the fuel economy or not

If i do change the brakes they will be from GTI 206 as I intend to buy a donor car. Well I got 17" on at the moment with 205/45 tyres. I put up few pics soon so you can see how it looks atm. I will lower it all the way, in this case money wouldnt be a problem, its more about the ride height...

I no what you mean about drum brakes, everyone says the same but tbh im not really gonna be on car shows, im just building a nice ride for daily driving...4x4, yh kind of, but it has low profile tyres i got the wheels with which dont give it that 4x4 look yet

Its much cheaper to get a damaged donor car than buying parts separately...the only issue i have with this engine is the economy. Im not sure if im rich enough to pay for the petrol after it will all be done. as its 1.1 atm do you think if would be enough just to put 1.6 engine, I would also get...

I would say its quite a large gap, 4 to 5cm. I kno its still perfect to lower it as arches are not a problem as much as this stage but the front bumper is quite low.

The suspension it is on atm is just standard and not lowered or anything. It could do with lowering a bit but already I need to slow right down on speed humps. Firstly I need to finish the paint job and then will decide on getting donor car as I seen one on a salvage auction.
