It is slap bang in the middle of the bumper, just below the grill.

It was 6 month old when we bought it. It's a 2008 model. Probably the most we have spent on a car and the one that has the most minor niggles. The Ford paintwork warranty is only 1 year. I cannot believe that you can pay 25K on a car and only have 1 year warranty on the paintwork for defects.

It was an ex demo from Ford, 6 month old. I've heard a few stories of the bumper peeling on bought from new Focus STs.

Always has to be Landrover for me if it is pure offroading. A SWB with good tyres. It is the only one that looks good with dents and scrapes. I have a Freelander at the moment, but it is just for the snow in Northumberland, never really taken it offroad.

Hi. We have a 2008 ST2 in performance blue. Have noticed lately that the lacquer on the front bumper is peeling of in areas up an inch long. I have heard this is a common problem but was wondering if anyone else is suffering from this? Any idea how much to get a bumper re lacquered...

Hi, I've got a 2008 ST2. No mods but has been rolling roaded at 247 bhp at a ford owners club day. No idea why. Really, it is the wifes car so I can't see any mods in the near future, not even a nice exhaust. :sad2: We have had it 2 1/2 years and it's a great car. I nick it when I can. ;)

Have just seen the date on the post. I guess you have tyres by now. :lol: To anyone with a TF and to a lesser extent, an F, they are fussy about tyres and mixing tyres on the car can lead to really bad handling problems. I have heard of people describing their cars as borderline dangerous...

What size wheels do you have? MGFs aren't as fussy as the TFs and mines a TF. I use Toyo T1Rs, but they are getting difficult to come by. I can PM you a link to another site which has compiled a list of recommended tyres, unless you are happy for me to post the link on here.

If you are changing from a 1.6 to a VVC then you may as well look at other options as you will need new engine/gearbox/rev counter/ECU etc etc anyway. There have been a few Type R conversions (a lot of them are rough and ready) and I have heard of a company that does an Audi 1.8T conversion...
