does any one know of a peugeot 206 that has had a mk4 golf r32 engine and transmission transplant as i am toying with the idea of doing it.
i know of the following problems;
Wiring/electrics.
wheel base difference of 73mm. (shorten/custom make prop shaft??)
mounting everything.
chassis stiffening.
possibly engine bay but having worked on both it appears that only minor modifying would need to be done.

I've seen some jap engines in Golfs but not a Golf in a 206. There is no reason why not though. You will need custom engine mounts. As long as both engines are the same transverse or longitudinal with intakes on the same side then it should be quite feasible to do.

You will also as you suspect need custom driveshafts, there is also the need to get the suspension right for the weight of the R32 engine. You will definately need bigger brakes to stop the thing.

One problem you might have is if the PUG has an immobilser or some sort of trip computer. These would not work with a VAG ECU so you would need a custom engine managment or some very inventive wiring.;)

Please keep us posted on your interesting project and I wish you every sucess with it.
