HI GUYS, I DRIVE A NISSAN 300ZX Z32 NON-TURBO 2+2 WITH 8JX18"WHEELS ET45. NOW I WANT TO UPGRADE MY BRAKES AND I FOUND AKEBONO COMPLETE SET WITH FRONT CALIPERS OF ALUMINUM. BUT THE FISCS ARE BIG, 14" FRONT AND 13.8" BACK. FROM CONCEPTZPERFERMONACE.

BUT IN HOLLAND I FOUND ALSO FROM BREMBO ORIGINAL ALUMINUM FRONT, FITS STANDARD DISCS 30MM THICK.

BECAUSE I LOST MY ORIGINAL NISSAN MANUAL, DURING MOVING, MUST BE SOMEWHERE, I DONT KNOW WHAT THE ORIGINAL SIZES ARE FROM
MY Z32 NON-TURBO.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME THE BEST ADVICE WHAT TO BUY FOR A BRAKE UPGRADE THATS EASILY BOLT ON.

THANKS,

ROB

380mm are a typical upgrade size on these, so the 14's should fit ok, some alloy designs have better clearance than others. I guess that you are doing the brake disc, calipers and pads as a set.

Personally I would ask people breaking the turbo ZX, the brakes on that IIRC are larger than the non turbo version and could be a very cheap and easily bolted on upgrade.

Hi Obi, thx for reply.

Yes my new alloy wheels have better clerance so u see those small discs etc.

I was also thinking, cheaper, to put on 30mm discs from a TWIN, front and rear.

But does the original calipers can handle those?

There are many sport disc i can buy here in Holland. From BREMBO, TOPTECH, ABS ETC.

If they do, I will order with pads.

The AKEBONO set will cost me from USA including customs about $1.900,-

Thanks again,

Robert

Make sure you can get pads easily there are a few of sizes out there. I rate Brembo myself. I would also replace the calipers to make sure they all match up.

Any calliper with 4 or 6 pistons can fit provided that it comes with the correct dogbone mounting bracket and suits the diameter , thickness and mounting position of the disc .

Finding alloy wheels that will clear a big brake kit it all comes down to the design and something that many don't understand ( even staff in wheel and tyre specialist shops) called the "X factor" which is the built in space allowed in the wheel design to clear the callipers that can and will vary with wheels with the same ET (offset) due to the spoke shape as some are straight ,concave ,convex or too far inboard from the outer edge of the rim.

FWIW when I was searching for spare used wheels ( to fit my track tyres on ) to suit my BBK upgrade I would do a test fit.

THX. I ALREADY SPOKE SALESMAN FROM CONCEPTZPERFORMANCE. THEY SAY AKEBONO IS OEM FROM NISSAN AND THEY GUARANTEE IT FITS. BUT CALIPERS FROM A TWINTURBO WITH SPECIAL DISCS IS CHEAPER AND I CAN BUY IT HERE IN HOLLAND. BUT THE ALUMINUM CALIPERS FROM BREMBO ARE OUT OF STOCK AND THEY DONT KNOW WHEN THEY SELL THEM AGAIN. THX, ROB
