What are the benefits of braided brake hoses? Do they just last longer or do they give other benefits.

I hear lots of people talking about fitting them but i've never seen what the point is.

They give you faster braking response. In other words, when you hit the brake pedal, you don't have to wait for the system to pressurise before they work. The braided ones stop expansion and give sharper braking response. One downside though from my experience is that they brake down on the inside of the pipework rather than on the outside like standard pipes do. So you wont know its about to perish until it's too late. But in my experience, a good set of pads and proper disks are totally fine for road use. I don't see any point in them if using for the road other than looking good (if you can even see them lol)

Ideal for track and as said, eliminates expansion. Can't be having bulging hoses under pressure when heavy braking. Needs to be fast and solid.
