Induction kit for 1998 6n 1.4 16v

Hi

, wondered if anyone could help,ireally want to modify my polo and wondered what the best things to do to it would be? I heard that putting an induction kit on a 1.4 16v was bad news.. Is this true? And what other mods could I do to improve handling and bhp.... ps I don't know an awful lot about cars lol, but really want to get involved!

best thing. ditch the 1.4 and fit the 1.8t

induction kit on a 1.4 wont do much, and the bad news is mainly because you end up sucking in the hot air from around the engine. this is a problem with all induction kits that dont come with heat shielding

Really? what exactly were you comparing the Polo too when you used that statement my friend? I think PG's advice for RT is spot on, and heat soak through the induction kit on an engine that size will actually have the reverse effect performance wise I'm afraid :sad2:

top speed - more than the polo wont say what i had mines at but it was still pulling, mate had his standard 1.8 155 on the autobahn (gps not speedo )

and that was in a bora which weighs around 350kg more than the polo

its not really as fast car mate sorry to be the bearer of bad news
