carbon bits

Is that the real thing in its true form? I have never seen CF before that hasn't been developed into its end shape.

What you doing with them then? How do you use it?? Is it like fibre Glass? Do you apply resin?

Yup, the real thing. This is for making a CF body for the Elan, once I have got the car running and the fibreglass body how I want it. Body wll be made by Nick at Carbon Weezel (the guy who makes T9man's parts).

It is very much like fibreglass woven matting as opposed to the chopped strand type sold in accessory shops.

It is worked in a similar way using specialised resins, but is harder to shape as it is stiffer than fibreglass when wet.

I finally got round to covering the centre console, what a PITA this was, nearly lost me rag with it, had to walk away for a few mins:

If you don't mind me saying so, just a small note to you from me! :amuse:
I think you have got the balance just right inside the cab area for the CF wrap.
If you are thinking of adding to it then I think that would be a mistake!
I hope you don't mind my two pennies worth ;)
