whats needed to run 10s

I'd say 450whp. 450 at the crank is going to be more like 380-400 to the wheels. (good for low 11's...mid to high 10's with a great driver, the right suspention setup, and sticky tires)

bhp=brake horsepower=horsepower at the crank.

whp=wheel horsepower=horsepower after all losses, measured at the wheels.

450-500whp will easily get you into the 10's in just about any car. the lighter the car, the less you need...but it's kind of logarithmic. you would need to lose a lot more weight than you'd need to add horsepower.

but I digress. 450-500 wheel horsepower would do you well. What kind of car?
