Focus RS #0333

Few quick pics now 333 is sitting a bit lower on KW V1's and had a wash. Engine bay needs a clean though!

Could do with going a touch lower I think? Although it has settled a tiny bit lower since these pictures.

Re: Frs #0333

Looks like a sweet ride! Bet it feels much better with the KW V1's :D Pretty wild manifold you have there..

Thanks chief. Primary Designs...the best a man can get

Wow! It certainly looks  MA! Any track days planned to stretch her legs out a bit? ;)

Cheers T9, yeah as many as possible as soon as the trackings done. Might be able to squeeze one or two in before xmas!

Looking good mate. How are you finding the big brake setup?

Insane! And insanely annoying  I have DS3000's in, but this time "not for road use" really does mean not for road use! The squeel so so loudly, the dust is mental and they are eating my exepensive rotors alive. I have some APF404's (AP's pad, very simular compound to DS2500 but meant to be a tad better) to slot in when I get chance. Downside is they are £220 a set

Stopping power though is incredible, batter and batter them and they just don't fade! Pulled 1.5G under braking on my Racelogic Performance Box :amazed: And that's with well out geometry so I'm going to try for 1.6G once that's done. Either way that's insane braking on road tyres!

Sounds awesome!! That's the kind of braking power I want eventually. How much was the kit?

Around £2.5k new with DS3's but that's with lines and fluid. Mine was second hand but covered very few miles, but without lines or fluid. I paid £1.4k IIRC.

absolutely love the mk1 frs and this is a beauty :), loev the upgrades and great engine power bet it a cracking motor on the road.

was you at rsoc national day last month?

hope thats been waxed ;)

brakes look small there without the wheels, so you dont recommend the ds3000s then ? had heard that they were night and day against the 2500s

prince there were 4 pot brembos that were fitted to the older 740s (cant remember the exact model number ) they were the same callipers that were fitted to either the R32 or R33 gtr and lambo diablo.
a brake man found a BMW specialist dismantler selling them for £60 for the pair. that might be an option for you and some custom adaptors.
he was looking at fitting them to the mk4/5 golf thats the only reason i know about them

Not waxed, but its on the list! Don't get me wrong they are immense but just no good for road. I will let you know how I get on with the 404's. Not at national day due to being in Mexico for two weeks!

Thanks for the kind words Blunty. I've worked hard and spent a fair amount to get it to this point. It's an incredibly quick point to point car and so much fun on b-roads.

They don't fit without a lot of machining and custom work.

aye heard they were good but didnt like being cold as youve found, but then again i found loads of reviews on the 2500s saying they squeal when cold.

prince. shame i knew they needed custom carriers and i think it was a disc from an alfa redrilled to match the PCD. thought it might have fitted easier to other bms

i only hear from them after a hard run then when slowing down to town speeds but its not really loud - ie can only hear it with the music off - and its gone after a few applications

Apf404 are in now. No mega braking as they are still bedding in. First impressions, bite much better initially especially from cold, and only a tiny squeek from them when coming to a full stop but I actually think its the rears. Hard to tell with all the wind noise yesterday.

First time driven in ages and I forgot what an animal she is!

Is there a set bedding in procedure for your brakes MA? I would be very interested to hear how you get on with the APF404's once they are ready to be used in anger.

Yes but its mega long, the roads were busy and I didn't have time. Something like break lightly from 55-30, 25 times in blocks of 5 with quarter mile in between each block ideally. Did a couple of blocks of five then went home lol.

I will let you know how I get on.

I've had quite a bit of time to myself lately (as you can tell from posting more on here again) so it's changed even since those pictures and changing every day lol. The spec atm is (not everything shown in pics!)

Very very nice MA, but if you think that looks a little high then you must sweat more than I do when approaching a speed ramp!

what an absolute no expense spared focus rs, you have done everything id want to do to mine when i get one :)
do you take it on track? bet its a real weapon on there

Not yet matey but I want to as soon as possible. Just haven't had chance but I want to do as many as I have time for.

I'm pretty sure the clutch may well poo itself when the boost controller goes on so I might need to change that soon. Got my eyes on a nice lityle Sachs performance organic jobby but that's another 500 nearly plus new release braring, gearbox oil which I already have and yet more ate superblue!

Have a racelogic performance box but not really tried it out properly yet. Just playing with pussy light launches and poor grip due to geometry not being set up yet I managed 0-100 in 13 dead, 0-60 in 5.8. Confident with a clutch that will handle a launch and geo done it will hit under 12 secs and under 5.5 secs respectively.

Impressive figures there MA.

Not bad I don't think considering I'm building it for track and not drag racing. I would have just slapped a big turbo on if that was the case!

I think I might have to start looking at my rearview mirror with a lot of fear next year, especially if you happen to be on the track the same time as me MA!

Would be good to see an MA v T9 show down, I reckon T would dominate on the staights then MA catch him on the corners.... But Oz is still yet to get his AWD setup so we will have to see, I'm told that the AWD on a Saab is Torsen setup, prefferable to a Haldex system

Haha I think T9 would blitz me on the straights too and he hasn't exactly got a poor suspension setup either!

Boost controller fitted today but not tested as it just started to tinkle down before I could get the batery back in. Nice little setup now:

Well the fella I have a lot of my stuff off lists them for £530 delivered, which is the cheapest I could find without importing from Japan. He did it for £470 delivered for me.
