Will we always have cars

I don't think we will ever have a world without cars in some form.

But, can you see another form of transport overtaking car in popularity?

What do think it will be?

How much longer has the car got?

As cars move to electric and more and more things in the car communicates with the outside world, they will take on a new role (maybe) of mobile office/work space.

We will always need ways to get from A to B in a faster than walk rate and people will always want to do so away from the oppressed masses on public transport. Just the nature of the vehicle may change, the need wont.

I struggle to see a world without personal transportation but will it still be the car or at least have 4 wheels?

Would a long distance Segway work for most of our commutes?

There is nothing around that could replace the car at the moment.
