I'll start the ball rolling and I think Fiat should have a go at a new Fiat Coupe. 18 years ago it was released and still looks pretty good today. A fantastic car at an affordable price. I wonder what a new generation Coupe would look like, There are some half decent floorpans and engines they could use, just need a good designer. Also Toyota should bring the next supra on............blah blah

Oooh good question Aston.

I'd like to the Smart Raodster come back, they had a winner there & they through it away. No chance of it coming back the last I heard AC bought rights & the plant.

Would be nice to the Triumph GT6 come back too.

good call on the coupe!! but i think it would have to go 4wd or rwd to give it the edge over the original

me i would love to see the mk1 golf reintroduced with the 1.4 tsi engine
cheap tax, retro looks, cheap insurance, inspirational ideas aplenty

I really think bringing back the Supra would be interesting though at the rate they've mucked about in there rerenditionof older models I'd beafraid they'd ruin it.
IMO I just wish that I could get my hands on some of the cars that don't make it to the states. I don't need new versions just a fair chance o get my hands on the full veriaty. Not the poor selection and often watered down leavings we get now.
But, I dygress.LOL

It was continued as a Lupo

R32... it always had character having that VR6 in a hot-hatch. The new Golf 'R' with the 2.0T isn't the same car. It's either a tuned up GTi or a poor mans S3... they've really lost their way. Bring the VR6 back please.

The escort was continued, mk1 to mk5 then the focus. The escort lives

Actually the Escort ran to Mk6 IIRC.
But the Mk2 was IMO the best looking Escort made and the shape and drivetrain changed dramatically when the Mk3 was released.
The Focus was the follow on from the Escort and was a whole new design from ground up and as such is doesn't share a thing from the Escort.
So in truth the Escort has died and gone to motoring heaven.;)

Actually the escort ran to Mk7 (although difference in the finakl years seemed to be negligible).

agree with TN, just love the shape of the Mk2. Unfortunately when i was younger couldn't afford one and ended up with a Mk3, Mk4 and Mk5 at different stages.

Nope it ran to mk6.
The Mk5 ran from 1990-1992.
The Mk5b ran from 1992-1995.
And the Mk6 ran from 1995-2000.;)

Toyota need to redo the AE86, Ford need a Capri and the Fiat X1-9 would be awesome with a modern engine/chassis.

toyota have got a new AE86 in concept form at the moment the FT86, it's a joint venture with Subaru powered by a 2.5ltr n/a flat four, it was due to go into production but for some reason has been delayed

Ford definatley need a new capri, they should also take styling cues for it from the mk1, not too sure on the x-19 though, i think they're fugly

The X19 was a fun car to drive, so small light and nimble. Reliability and built quality issues have prevented it being the car it should have been. With Fiats modern engines and construction it could be a very stylish modern sports car and give the MR2/MX5 and other similar 2 seaters a run for their money.

I'm pretty excited about the FT86, it looks stunning. I do hope it is RWD like the original.

Having given this a little thort. I'd say it has to be the Capree.

10 years ago, only capree nuts would own one, but now they are some what of a collectable.

As long as ford made them all rear wheel drive, with a minimum of 200bhp, I think there would be a big market for the drifters out there.

I see that Lancia are remaking the stunning Stratos, this should be good but from what I can make out they are asking supercar money for it.

Grab the parts and build your own!

Chap in the local paper built a MkII GTi with the current 2.0TFSi and got a cover on one of the VW mags.

Me, I look at the Skoda Estelle. Maybe it wasn't a sexy full up rally car, but in it's class it dominated (more than I'd realised. 17 years in a row!). Smooth it out a bit, and give it a nice shiny 1.4TSi, and away you go.

What about the MG midget and the sprite? I'd also like to see the Tiumph Stag reborn with a modern twist.

The Ferrari F50 is due to be replaced IMO! Do something wedge shaped with a huge wing at the rear.

The F40 was pretty mental and undrivable in the wet.

No brainer for me, Audi quattro turbo 5 cylinder rally spec (swb) to knock evos and scoobies off the top of the road going rally cars... Again!
Ondriving this beast in the late 80s had an unforgettable effect on me. God that noise!!!

I would like to see the Austin Ambassador done again but with more than four gears and more than four cylinders.
Seriously? That would be like resurrected Hitler. A weg of cheese shaped, sluggish, poor handling ugly committee designed Leyland pos that drank fuel, sounded like a vacuum cleaner and had a ride like a cross between a sponge and a skateboard? Love your sense of humour man :rofl::lol::lol::lol:

If we are talking fiat, there is only one fiat (actually 2) that are worthy. The Dino coupe. And the supermirafiori sport. But the Dino is the absolute plural sphericals of grand tourer status. Featured in the Italian job as mafiosa cars in black, they had the glorious Dino v6 unit and stunning looks. Would certainly compete with maserati market place today.
Very unknown and under rated classic.
And again, I have had the pleasure, in left hand drive only. Mmm memories!
