I've heard a few people talking about heat cycling tyres?

It seems you can buy pre heat cycled tyres or some drivers do the heat cycling themselves but I don't really understand what it is, why you would do and what the benefits are?

This is more than warming the tyres up. It involved heating up the tyres and letting them cool down 24 hours before they are used again.

It conditions the rubber apparently. Doing it yourself will add wear to the tyre but buying one pre cycled does not have the wear associated with it as it's done in a lab environment rather than on the road.

I'm not sure it matters on a road car but on a track day where time is all that counts you need to wring every bit of grip from your tyre.

Anyone on here done it or bought heat cycled tyres?
