What is a sports car

When someone is talking about a sports car what models do you think of?

Are you veering towards anything powerful and quick or just two seater coupes and sports models?

2 seaters only i reckon, mostly hard top but alot convertible also, mainly european or japanese, americans called theirs muscle cars for most part.

My idea of a sports car is probably what most would call a grand tourer. I like the idea of big space, comfort, refinement, effortless to drive. It needs to be quick as well. 520i wouldn't do the job, 535d or 535i Tourer would - remapped, why not indeed? Or my current favourite - Tesla Model S P90D.

Not really sports cars though are they?
