Tesla designed solar roof tiles

Here is an interesting development, solar roof tiles that look like pretty normal roof tiles. Tesla are seeking ways to push electric car ownership as a viable and economical alternative to other fuels and the electric roof tile puts them a step closer.

I was looking at that article as well the other day, I love the design of those roof tiles and I think it is a huge step forward in making solar cells more acceptable aesthetically wise.

I suspect I'll be getting those (or something similar) before I get around to owning an electric car.

I was looking on a google car the other day that is being used for automated driving and the roof is one big solar panel. Not sure how efficient it is as no real details was released, but I like the idea.
