I have just bought a steam cleaner to clean my engine bay!.
Is there anything i should lookout for when doing this?,i know that i dont want electrics to get to wet etc!,will it effect paint work etc?,any tips will be gratefully received as i have tried this before or had it done!

I owned a company doing this, plus semis and equipment. Wrap wires with plastic wrap, pull ground off the battery, steam gets everywhere, inside electrics also.
In engine bay, bubbled paint is gone, stay 6 inches back on good paint and keep the sprayer moving. Metal parts, as close as you want but watch rubber bushings, etc. Know your parts, thin metal can be bent if too close. Check and tape firewall holes. Watch out for vacuum hoses. Don't overheat any one spot too much 212deg is boiling but your unit may be putting out 225 or 235deg steam that heats things quickly if left in on spot.
Good luck and have fun.
