Spotting a bad remap

How would you spot a bad or ameteur remap?

I would list the following.
  • Flat spots
  • Lots of soot
  • Loads of wheelspin at random points
  • Turbo whine
What points would you put down to a bad map? Where should upgrades be required to make the most of a remap? I'm thinking that a lot of standard turbos will not like being pushed very hard so in my mind it makes sense to get stronger parts and have reliable power rather than push the envelope as far as you can.
 
When pushed really hard they adopt a high pitched whine, then they start hooting like an owl then they die.
