S Type 2.7D Sport (2007)

Does anyone have any experience of remapping the 2.7D engine, the claims of increased torque, bhp and fuel economy seem too good to be true. Has anyone experienced any downsides to remapping eg turbo failure.

Howdo; Al diesel remaps rule, They will give you spectacular gains. Mine went from 130bhp to 170, and from 220lbft to 290lbft. There'll be no problems unless the car already has a problem.

Welcome to TorqueCars.

Any reputable mapping specialist would have worked on a few cars as guinea pigs before being let loose on the general public. Once they have interrogated the standard map and worked on a couple of engines on the rollers then this would be the benchmark map. If there were other modifications present then a live remap would be advised rather than a plug in upgrade. This way it is mapped to the mods done and not a generic one. Mapped turbo engines respond very well to this so the figures will look good. Post up what bhp figure you have now, what is standard and what you have been quoted.

Hello, bhp and torque currently 206 and 320ft/lb, have been quoted 291 and 420ft/lb by one company and 240 and 384 ft/lb by another it's all a bit confusing. I'm not after power only, a reduction in turbo lag and a smoother throttle response is more important to me.
