Any one have a GE quickshift kit? Or something similar?

If so, did you notice much of a diffirence and is it worth it?

It does make a big difference and when you go back to a standard gearstick you wonder whiy its got so much travel on it!

If you have a soggy gearbox which is prone to crunching then I probably wouldn't bother but for most cars it is great!

Had one on previous cars and will probably get one for the Audi - just a bit busy at the moment! (It will happen along with a 60bhp power upgrade and better suspension!)

how easy is it?

Can i do it to my beemer (e46) and use the original gearnob ?
is it just a matter of cutting the gearstick shorter?

i had a 6sp sports gearbox in my golf, that was the best i've ever used to date.

Its a doddle to do if you are reasonable competant at DIY mechanics. Its a little more than shortening the gear stick the center pivot needs to be moved to get the shorter throw. A Short gearstick will just make the long gear change stiffer. Most kits accept the standard knob so get the kit for your car and bung on the current knob.
