Hi all - as the father of a picanto owning son and his personal mechanic, I thought it prudent to join this group for your technical assistance from time to time, having done the regular servicing on his car for the past two years (09) plate car he now wants to start improving its performance and also looks so any pointers in the direction of mod shops would be appreciated also does anyone know of aftermarket suppliers of items such as alloy sump pans rocker covers etc help greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Greetings and a Warm Welcome to our TorqueCars Forum my Friend! :)

I am unable to help you with your question directly, but hopefully somebody can point you in the right direction for the knowledge that you seek!

Good luck buddy! :)

Howdo.

Try merlinmotorsport.co.uk, they do loads of race parts.

Your lad needs to be realistic though, it's a very good thing to learn how to maintain and mod cars, and learn how to fit better brakes, suspension, etc. but he won't be able to do much to make it any quicker with it being a 1 litre unless you spend 1000s on turbos.

Hello and may I wish you a very warm welcome to TorqueCars, nice to have you along.

Sorry for my delay in replying to you, we've totally revamped the site, and I'm sure you'll agree it's 1000 time better than before, much faster and easier to use.

thanks for the welcome guys its a shame that no-one has specialised in supplying after market products for these cars as they seem to be coming popular with younger drivers who no doubt would like to improve the looks and specs of their steeds maybe a business opportunity for someone and although my son is not trying to achieve warp speed from his car bling under the bonnet is desirable and inside the cabin no doubt keep up the good site and as they say "Build it and they will come "

I'm sure as the cars get older there will be a plethora of aftermarket parts available for them, you just have to be patient. Most young drivers cars gradually attract performance car parts from manufacturers.
