New clutch.

New clutch arrived today, paid £19,00 to get it here in 2 days, turned up in 4, normal i surpose, GTO should be ready Monday, front drive shaft taken off, full survise, ready to burn some rubber!!!! Look out fun, here we come. Regards to you all, keep on keeping on.:blink1: D.V.

Hi Waynne, Im just getting what i can. I have one ordered and paid for,(£192.00) one that should be delived to the garage where the GTO is Thursday, fingers crossed might be on the road by the weekend!

Guss what my flywheel is 268mm & thay sent a 294mm, when will it ever end!!! New right size flywheel is on its way & should arrive Monday. Fingers crossed might be on the road by next weekend.

Well it never stops, new fly wheel should have arrived yesterday, after phoneing today thay said thay sent it to the wrong address and now should arrive Thursday, it neaver stops, but one day in the not so distent whatever i might get my car back and you never know, maybe thay fixed it right. I have had that one as well along with, "the van broke down", "the drivers just been involved in an accident", "I was thinking of something else when I wrote your door number down wrong"
The final excuse I have not had yet for a delayed delivery, will no doubt involve some martians from out of space invading the warehouse where my goods were

Hi Waynne. Looks like i"m getting a lighter flywheel, the first one that was sent was to big and today a blue burnt cracked one turned up, thay are both being returned, refund, and the garage that have my GTO are going to skim my old flywheel, so it will be a bit lighter and the GTO will be ready Tuesday.We"ll see, all the best D.V.

To save anyone else having confusion on this matter, the clutch for a non turbo is 225 mm, hence the smaller flywheel and the clutch on a T.T. is 250 mm, bigger flywheel. Be specific when ordering these items as it will save you this type of hassle. :bigsmile:
When machining the face of the stock flywheel it is imperative to surface the posts to the exact same measurement. If this is not done, the clutch will not engage correctly and it will induce slip and premature wear on the new friction plate.

Track Warrior,(love that name) I did tell them it was a none turbo when i ordered & the 2nd flywheel thay sent was worse than mine ,been sent back, still waiting for money return, as allways, but thanks for info on machining as the new clutch is slipping and has to go back to the work shop. Got a bad cheast infection last 3 weeks, just starting to get over it. Finerly got the cash back for rotten flywheel but done nothing on the GTO for a couple of weeks, to ill. i should be up and running real soon. All the best D.V.

Hi ya all, Hope ya all had a great revvved up Christmas and a high octane blast to get ya into the new year. Still got this never ending chest infection, roll on the summer! Put some 18 inch alloy wheels on the GTO with low profiles, its touching the fenders a bit on the front. Went back to the tune up shop today for a bit of tweeking but running gooood, then its off to the body shop, lambo door kit, bit of ajustment to the front fenders & a conpleat blow over. I"ll put some photos on when its done. Be lucky D.V.

Will be very interested to see how the lambo door kit works out for you Dave.
I was at a Saab rally yesterday and a 9-3 convertible owner had just had one done, he ordered the kit from the states. There was a lot of unforeseen work that had to be done, both he and the garage concerned had to come to an arrangement about the additional costs - something to keep in mind.

It had the worst attempt of a carbon fibre wrap that I have ever seen MA :amazed:
Apparently it was fitted by a professional window tinting company, quite frankly it was embarrassing, it even had 4 air bubbles on display and they could'nt even be bothered to fold the wrap around the edges of the bonnet :amazed: It was as if they did not even open the bonnet to do the job properly.

I felt so sorry for him as they waffled him a complete load of nonsense! Gave him the telephone number of Totally Dynamics in Enfield and I tried to be as tactful as possible

Had this chest infection for over 2 months, been on so many pills i rattle, just nocked the wind out my sails. Touch wood i seem to start to be on the mend. Started to get the GTO fixed up & ready for the spring. Big problem is its running to rich. Guy at the shop says can"t change it as its all done by the computer! But there must be a way!

Not sure of the name Dave, but I seem to remember a tuning garage in Bexley Heath Kent who specialised in Scoobies and Evo's that was well thought of! Maybe you could find out the name and give them a call for a second opinion!
