Does replacing the stock air filter with K&N cone air filter improve the fuel economy? Should I install new spark plugs? What else do u suggest for improving fuel economy.I am thinking to change my exhaust system for better air flow as well as installing K&N air filter.

Engine Specifications:
1098cc, 64 bhp.

On the 1098 engine you will almost certainly lose power/economy by fitting an induction kit.

The key is to get the efficiency of the engine up. Running the engine warmer (by changing the thermostat) will help economy.

New plugs will help if the old ones are dirty. Setting a slightly wider gap in the plugs will also give a stronger spark.

An induction kit tends to rob you of low down power - where the economy usually is for round the town driving and it gives a bit more top end. So I guess the end result depends how hard you drive it.

For a 1.0 engine I recommend a panel air filter instead of an induction kit.

This depends on were you live in warmer climates cold air induction increases both power and economy mine improved in acceleration and 2-3 mpg
