Now then guys stumbled across your forum and need some idea's for my car!

I have a Black 206 1.4 S TD, one of my questions is what's the difference between the S TD engine and the HDI? Are they the same?
Looking to introduce an intercooler but I'm struggling for space as my car has AC, looked at FMIC but would that mean butchering my car? Something I'm not keen on doing haha!

Anyways here's a list of what's been done:
Refurbished 206 gti wheels in black
Twin LED halo headlights
LED sidelights and number plate bulbs
Window tints by TintR dot com
Tuning box
Boost controller set to 18psi
AutoGauge boost gauge
Savage exhaust
Clear rear fog light
Upgraded door speakers 6.5 JBL GTO68
Rear Vibe 6x9's
JVC head unit
Chrome LED bonnet vent and washer jets
Hopefully remap soon!

Another question is that ive set my tuning box to max before cut out but that was with stock boost, I've since increased boost so could I crank the tuning box up a bit more? What causes the ECU to tell the car to cut out? Does it sense the mixtures too rich?

Be nice please, I'm a newbie to these things!

welcome Matt

I don't know much about diesels tbh, but i'm sure someone will be along shortly to give you some direction

Greetings Matt and Welcome to TorqueCars My Friend! :)

Jarrus is our resident diesel and Pug specialist, hopefully he will see this thread and reply! HDi fun is another well respected diesel expert on here, so if you are very lucky you will benefit from his vast wisdom on all things diesel ;)

Good luck to you :)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :)

Really stumped about the whole intercooler thing, I was led to believe the 1.6 hdi intercooler was a simple enough bolt on additive, so off to the scrappy I went only to find it wouldn't fit :( haha! Oh well you live and learn!

Just because it does not fit, does not mean it can't be made to fit! Don't give up hope as anything is possible in the world of car modifications! :)

Yeah I suppose your right! Haha, I'd like an FMIC do you by any chance know how to fit one or which one to go for? If its too complex for DIY how much would it cost to get it done professionally and would it really be worth the gain?

Welcome to TC mate,

First off, if a 1.6 HDI intercooler isn't a straight fit then I wouldn't bother making it fit, I'd go for something bigger if possible, something more worth while,

Also I had a look into the 1.4 TD S and it would seem that it is a HDi, I've no idea why it isn't baged this way, any chance you can post up a picture of the engine bay just to be sure.

thankyou :)
Yeah how would I go about getting a larger one fitted do you suggest having it done professionally?

The engine bay looks identical to the HDi and the ford Duratorq 1.4 except the box that prevents turbo noise has no marking on it, it's just blank :S

Larger is not necessarily better. It depends a lot on the internals of the intercooler whether the cooling can be increased dramatically.

hi people. Im new to this and I want to no if I cn get more performance from my 1998 206 1.1. Its pretty slow lol.

hey and welcome, tbh save your money, its going to cost a fortune to get the 1.1 fast and even then it would be unreliable. wait a while and get something else.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news
