hi my bmw 1 series e87 key fob dont work

hi my bmw e87 key fob does not central lock the car but it is able to start the car and my central locking inside the car is fine

i read that if i change the battery but i have tried to open the casing but it does not open is there anything that can be done without have to go to bmw to reprogramme or buy a new key

I will try and find a company that a friend of mine has used in the past.
They specialise in programming key fobs for any car and I am quite sure that they had a good reputation. I cannot find them in my favorites on this PC so maybe they are on my work PC; I will have a look for you tomorrow and see what I can find. I believe they can help in one of two ways, send them your spare key and they can copy and send you a replacement. Or send them your ECU serial number and the key and they can still do something. Alternatively there are a few key cutting companies who will undertake car keys as well and might well be able to help you and for much less cost than the specialists, in the meantime Google may be your friend here.
