Hello! I’m very excited to learn about this site as the technical information seems more like information, rather than say, opinion or best guess. My name is Mark, I live SE of Pennsylvania, ‘Murica. I’m driving a 2012 VW GOLF TDI, 6spd MT. I currently am running a CR170 turbo, stage 3 Malone tune, rawtek 3” cat/resonator(all else deleted), VWR racing ram air, all told around 200hp/340ftlbs. To accommodate, I replaced: all brakes/rotors, control arms fr/rr, hubs/bearings, tie rods, added DKM MB clutch SMF, poly bushings throughout, dogbone, coilovers, wheels/tires (stock 17”size/conti extreme contact, short shifter. Super fun car!

Although... gearbox currently on bench awaiting full rebuild(synchromesh bearing closest to 4th fell apart). Ran a junker GTI tranny for a bit (quick gearing), and the clutch began slipping, then failed. I’m going to a south bend stage 3 endurance, adding a 4th gear input shaft support, and new motor and tranny mounts from BFI. Back in business soon... I hope!

I am a big fan of the TDI (had a 2010 Audi A3 I had to sell back), and of any kind of performance tinkering. Still much to learn....

Hello and a very warm, welcome to TorqueCars from me the admin, sorry for my slow reply.

Thank you so much for joining up and introducing yourself.

I lost my brother recently following a tragic accident whilst he was working so I've not been around on here much. I've set aside some time to catch up with things though and I hope you've been able to have a look around the site and meet some of our regulars.

I have just done some revisions to the main site, so it is hopefully more readable and informative. We're slowly improving and tweaking things as we go and value feedback and suggestions from our members.

Keep reading the articles on our site and this forum... you'll pick up loads of good common sense tips and don't be afraid to post questions, were all here to share our knowledge and experience.

We run a really fun and interesting car community and many have said we're the friendliest around, always ready to help out where we can.

Enjoy your time with us, post loads and feel free to ask any questions or begin new threads and discussions. We're always interested to hear your comments and views on our existing topics and in the hot polls.
