Help really want this "67 Red Beetle!!

Hello everyone

This is my first post and I am after advice on this VW beetle I am interested in buying.

It is a 1967 Red Beetle and have been to look at it and it all looks spot has had lots spent on it and runs great, but not to clued up as this will be my first beetle if was to buy it, it is from my mate so know the seller which i guess is a bonus...i will post the spec up here now for you guys to looks at...

1967 vw beetle, Owned for last 5 years, Lots of maintiance and new parts/upgrades spec below and a list of reciepts

engine
1600cc
fully chromed
altenator conversion (looses the oldstyle dynamo for much better charging of battery)
Twin 40 Kadron Carbs with recent filters
Bosch 009 Distributer
Electronic egnition conversion (removes points less hastle and never needs setting up)
Empi turbo trip exhaust system and manifold (tucks away into rear wheel arch for better ground clearance and lots of noise)

Gearbox
1200 box (best combination with a 1600 motor)

Chassis
Floor has been removed and has been fully replaced with new heater channels
Lowered rear by 2 splines (fully adjustable so will sit on the floor if wanted)
Front end lowered using correct dropped spindles
Front disc brake kit had very little use
Front and rear upgraded shocks front are bugpack rear kioni
Polly bushes
4 new tyres fronts are continental smart car tyres rears bridgestones
New rear brake pipes and rear wheel cylinders 50 miles ago

Interior
Spriit of the 60s carpet set
New doorcards
empi quick shif gear shifter
bamboo headlining
Beach buggy steering wheel
Front and rear parcel shelves trimmed in black and white check
chrome speedo surround
chrome door pins
wooden window winders

Stereo
Alpine sub
4ch Amp
rockford fosgate rear 6x9s
pioneer front 6x9s
all hidden in custom shelves trimmed in black and white chequers
Truck battery to power motor and upgraded stereo

As i said ive loved this car its had the best of everything and i wouldnt be selling it ever if i had the choice. Body is faded and patchy in places but is solid floors and underside are mint and will be for many many years. Everything works as it should and has had loads of new wiring. Tax exempt and mot untill march 2012 with no advisorys.

from reading other peoples experiences it is very solid and only rust on the car is on passenger door hinge, as door opens then drops abit, heater channels are ok and been repaired few years ago...he is asking £2850 for it!!

Considering the prices of pre '72 cars I would say that is a steal for what it is. It looks like it needs a bit of TLC but that is to be expected and easy to work on. Wiring could do with tidying up, but if that's all it needs then why wait? As Waynne as said, what's stopping you at this time?
