Hi all. I found this forum after searching for 207 mods... I was originally after a civic type r but decided to be more sensible for a couple of years. I got my 207 1.6 sport and it actually feels... Surprisingly nippy. Nice firm suspension, too. I know it's the 'prince' engine as shared with the mini, if that's good news for anything...

I know it's always air filter first to get a little bit more power and response, but wondered what other people's thoughts and experiences are with these engines? Be nice to get a bit more poke out of it. Good fun little car though!

Great to be here with you guys. Look forward to some chattin'!

Cheers,

Paul

Hi mate, I'm new to this whole forum thing too, so in the spirit of getting involved - I'll reply to your post!

Depends how much you want to do and how much you want to spend really - there are bolt on mods like air filters, induction kits, new exhaust system (but without upping power that'll be a waste of money). If yours is the turbo version then you could consider a bigger turbo, a remap, both?

Failing that and your down to the old classics: skimming the head, oversized pistons, polishing valve seats, high lift cam etc etc. Is yours the Diesel turbo?

Thanks for the reply pal! Mines the 1.6 vti petrol and not a tirbo. It's a nippy car, and I can see the sport element in the firmer suspension it has. I'm waiting for a pipercross airfilter to be delivered and it'll be interesting to feel the difference in throttle response. As it's the same engine as the mini cooper, I was wondering if the supercharger from the Cooper S could be fitted, but I'm sure that's quite complicated!
