A modification would mean changing the intercooler as well as the clip is designed to interface with that!

The answer I think will be getting a different car! Audi are really starting to annoy me now! It shouldn't have stupid glitches like this down to bad design or workmanship, they were a quality brand!

Get the S3 intercooler and the specific hardpipe kit and you're laughing.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere as well pipe kits for the standard IC which let you use proper clips.

I am having serious doubts about VW Audi (and of course Seat & Skoda, too) with regard to build quality and reliability.
