Fuel Boost Valve

how exactly do these work? and would it be worth investing in one?

and would it affect my insurance premium?

They give a faster throttle response & work by increasing the pressure of the fuel line. It makes the car respond more quickly and speed pick seems much better.

Any modification should be disclosed to the insurers and they all take a different stance on each kind of modification.

the ecotek valve looks good and im seriously contemplating it, its cheap and every site i've looked on all say excellent things (whether i'm being naive is upto you to decide :? ) better mpg, improved throttle responce etc. i obviously declare everything to my insurers, but i was wondering if they will change my premium.

even if i argue less emissions & better mpg? :wink:

I wouldn't touch an Ecotek valve on any car that has a lambda sensor and closed loop exhaust catalytic converter. Maybe your mid-eigthies Maestro with a pair of good ole' SU carbs would benefit. Anything later, then for me, it's a no.
